Oh God they lost another one, this time to atrocious Purdue who had beaten only Vanderbilt and Maryland coming in and had lost at Nevada to start the season.
Scott Frost has been implying and saying directly since he took over out there--btw, think he mebbe regrets leaving UCF?--that there are players not fully bought in; that some players are soft; that there is a "culture" problem at Nebraska. And I remember reading of a player who was disgruntled, maybe transferred, I don't remember, but validating Frost's implications and statements. The players have not played hard, Stephen Sipple of the Lincoln Journal-Star, has written that; they clearly did not play for Frost the whole first half of last season and gave up after the excruciating Colorado loss this year. Mike Riley was 4-8 in his last season in Lincoln and finished losing four straight and six of seven. All to say: I believe Frost is right; I do not think that this is his fault. There is cancer in this team and, imo, Frost ought to excise it rather than have it graduate out. He needs to get as many of these players the hell out of this program as he can.
