The "Heat" do NOT stand pat. Andre Iguodala, 36, one time Finals MVP and one of the best defending guards in the NBA is going from Memphis to Miami. The "Heat" has also signed him to a two year, $30 million extension. That has to mean the "Heat" traded one or the other of James Johnson, Dion Waiters, or both, because the "Heat" are hard-capped: they cannot take on additional money without giving out at least an equal amount, and the "Heat" have no future draft picks to speak of. But who we gave up is, weirdly, not known at the moment. This may be a linked three or more way deal because the "Heat" are also trying to land Danilo Gallanari from OKC. How are they doing this at the moment when the trade deadline passed six hours ago? I don't know.
Pat Riley is going for it. He sees an opportunity to win this thing now and he's going for it! Welcome Iggy!
