Yesterday, Oct. 20, was "about" the day that former Republican operative and current Lincoln Project member Stuart Stevens said would be the day the worm turned:

“There’s been a lot of talk – it’s sort of a universal truth – that this election is going to be close. I have a different opinion. I think it’ll be close till about October 20th, and then I think it’s going to be like Carter versus Reagan, that the bottom is going to start to drop out [of Trump’s campaign]."--CNN, August 26.

Stuart was spot on that the race has been close since Aug. 26 and is close today, Oct. 21. But all of the evidence is, the state of the polls, the modeling forecasts, the betting markets sentiment, David Plouffe's assessment, is that it will remain close till Nov. 5.
