Pitt's loss tonight was down to more than Virginia targeting Eli Holstein and knocking him out of the game. We were leading 13-7 when he got hurt and was taken out; and Nate Yarnell did throw 2 INT's, but Yarnell came in for Holstein with 8:41 left in the 3Q. We had put up only 13 points in almost two and one-half quarters; one TD with Holstein as QB. He was 10/23 for only 121 yards. It is the 4th straight game he has not played well.
Rather than Holstein getting knocked out or Yarnell's two INT's, Pitt was off from the very first play from scrimmage! A false start penalty 4 secs into the game was how the night began. UVA threw two INT's: they resulted in three "Panthers" points. It was the penalties, 11 of them for 75 yards. UVA had 6, for even more yards, 80, but Pitt could not get untracked all night. The offensive line was jumping and yielded three sacks. The Pitt D sacked their QB even more, 6 times, but the "Panthers" O was just not on the same page tonight, all night. Weird performance in the 9th game of the season.
