Happy/Sad-urday. UPDATES.

Fake Bo Pelini

Fake Bo Pelini ‏@FauxPelini
HAHAHAHAHAHAHH WAIT WAS THERE ONE MORE SECOND OR NOT HAHJAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHHHAHAHAHH @danbeebe

That's it! It's over! MSU tried a pass (?), it was incomplete, Nebraska wins 39-38, big, BIG win for Mike Riley and Nebraska (and @fauxpelini). MSU was ranked #6. Congratulations to the entire state of Nebraska.

:07 left MSU on Nebraska 41. 58 yard field goal...

Nebraska scored! Nebraska scored! They lead 39-38, 17 seconds left.

:25 left, Nebraska trails Michigan State by five. They are on the Spartan 30 yard line, second and ten.

Anchors away, my boys! Anchors away! NAVY:) beat Memphis:(! Navy beat Memphis! Drowneded 'em, them Memphis "Tigers." They held those tigers. Beat 'em good, 45-20. Memphis was ranked fifteenth in the country, too. Congrats to the Midshipmen!

Nebraska, unranked, is leading #7 Michigan State 10-0! Only in the first quarter but I bet @fauxpelini is happy about that! Gonna check him out now. That would be a humongous upset. GO HUSKERS!!

Oh, we have another upset. OKLAHOMA STATE:), numero twelve-0 beat dem fifth-ranked "Horny Toads" of Texas Christian:( Beat the snot out of 'em, did them "Boone Pickenses," 49-29.

NOW it's final. ARKANSAS:) 53 Ole Miss 52. And that's an upset! Sooey pig, sooey. That is seriously Arkansas' fight chant.

What the hell are they doing down in Oxford, Mississippi? That game is lasting longer than the World Series,--Game 9 in about half an hour, by the way.--I thought it was over and now it shows Ole Miss 51-50 or something like that in overtime.

No upsets today! No eight-lateral-blocked/muffed-run-back-for-TD-punt/fieldgoal. Been all the chalk today :(

Man, UNC laid 66 on Duke today. 66! Rout 66. Inexcusable, painful loss for Duke last week to MIAMI :), who beat Virginia :( today but no way you should turn around and lose to your biggest rival 66-31. Sheesh.

Hold that Hawkeye! Hold that Hawkeye!... ? No, I don't think one holds a "Hawkeye." Squishy, messy. I don't know what one does with a "Hawkeye." You lose to it, eye see. IOWA:) Indiana :(.

Hold that tiger! Hold that tiger! That gets repeated about 37 times in that fight song. That I know of the song does not explain why it is advisable to hold a tiger. Whatever! CLEMSON :) "Tigers" Florida State:(

All over but the shoutin': NOTRE DAME :), who beat Temple in a close hame in Philadelphia last week, is trouncing Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh; NORTH CAROLINA :), an outlaw school who beat Pitt worse than the score indicated last week in Pittsburgh, is MURDERING Duke :( who were ill-used by the officials last week in their loss to another outlaw school, Miami, in Chapel Hill; and TEMPLE :) beat Southern Methodist Friday.

Conclusions: Notre Dame is very, very good, as is head coach Brian Kelly; North Carolina is the best outlaw school and one of the 10-15 best...inlaw, that is to say, overall, in the country. At tackle
football. Temple is clearly the best team in Pennsylvania and their coach, Matt Rhule, is very good.

Lack of talent has caught up with Pitt the last two weeks. They do not have top-notch talent, cannot beat the teams, like Notre Dame, who do, and have beaten the less talented teams they played. Their most impressive result is still the last second 57 yard field goal loss to Iowa in Iowa City. Iowa is still undefeated. Pitt is pretty good, they deserve their 6-3 record and their coach, Pat Narduzzi, is good; yet, there is a dread that stalks Pitt followers. Off there on the horizon, beyond the mostly clear skies of the present, there is a familiar, solid bank of gray. It has gotten closer each of the last two weeks and it comes on still. The nightmare before Christmas for every Pittsburgh follower is a fifth straight 6-6 season. They have three remaining games: at Duke, home to Louisville, home to Miami. #lolpitt.

FULL-TIME:  STOKE :) Chelsea :( Now what does Roman Abramovich do?

MANCHESTER UNITED :) West Bromwich Albion :(

So last week's began Thursday and this week a game involving a top 25 team was played Tuesday night. And Thursday (two), and last night. Conflicted with the World Series. That's a problem with America generally, everything is never quite enough. If this dosage is good, this dosage x 10 must be great. Well, we t'ain't gonna play that game here. The undersigned idiot blogger will note the games that catch his fancy and ignore those that don't whether they involve top 25 teams or not.

Why did Charles Dickens create the character of Dora in David Copperfield--Poor transition there, yes.--only to kill her off? The "child-wife" could be  a parody of Dickens' inadequacy in drawing most female characters and she appears almost as a cut-and-paste afterthought. She adds nothing to the story and is dispatched so quickly, as if Dickens thought, "Oh, this isn't good."
