FT Nebraska 13 Northwestern 10

With 2:13 left until OT in Lincoln NW threw an INT. NEB took over at the NW 49 and on the last play of the game kicked the FG from the 7 for the win. Good win for “Huskers,” tough loss for NW, another bad game for the B1G. The conference just looks futile. Too many teams unable to score, fumbling, throwing errantly, racking up penalties—like they just took the sport up and haven’t gotten the basics down yet. Ohio State the massive exception to this image and we’ll see if they can keep it up tonight but the point I am making is that the conference championship is going to be devalued. The B1G has not placed a team in the college football playoffs the last two seasons. You’ve got to pass the eye test to get an invite to the playoffs and the B1G has flunked that test the last two seasons. Until last week Wisconsin was the pretty new thing.  But then they went out and struggled at home against this same Northwestern team that Nebraska just edged. PSU is also unbeaten but came *this* close to losing to Pitt at home, who came this close to losing to Delaware at home. The hip bone is connected to the knee bone is connected to the ankle bone like that and at the end you don’t get a comely leg. The biggest game in the conference almost every year is Ohio State-Michigan. That game is not worth shit right now. Ooh Ohio State you beat Michigan. Snore. Michigan State is a quality opponent. It will not be another bad look for the conference if the game tonight is closer than Ohio State -20 but it would sure be a better look if the “Buckeyes” rolled.
