Democracy and COVID

My son still has a stuffed nose but just tested negative. His friend John, the Patient Zero in this circle, had a stuffed nose but tested negative over the weekend. That is, they were both still symptomatic yet tested negative. Officially, they don't have COVID. None of us recognized this for what it was when we got it; none of us feel over it (I am on Day 10 and slept until 12:30 today.), yet two have tested negative. Is this the new normal? Sleeping until 12:30 is my new normal? Do we not get back to pre-pandemic levels of wellness?

COVID is process-determinative. You test +, you may be asymptomatic but you got it bud! You test -,  but are symptomatic, congratulations you're not sick, now stop complaining. You are what the test says you are. In other words COVID, like democracy, is not result-determinative. Hitler's your Leader, Trump's your Leader--your leader is who the election result says it is, stop complaining. No result of a COVID test or a democratic election is ever "bad." It is simply fact.

This is hard to take. It doesn't matter how you feel, it doesn't matter how bad the result of an election is, go with the flow of the process, ignore the result. Really hard to take. I am verily frustrated. If I tested negative today (and I will not get tested today) I would be able to work up a potent batch of whoop ass, despite my COVID-caused listlessness.
