They used to say of Democrats that we were "bicoastal elites", that we had the Pacific Rim and the Atlantic Coast while the Heartland was Red. In military parlance that image could mean two very different things: 1) that the Democrats' "flanks were in the air", exposed and vulnerable, or 2) that Republicans were fighting the dread "two front" war.
However now, and for the next six years at least the map must needs be updated. If we perform the following exercise in excising, and who amongst us can object?

Ugh (if one is Republican) the dread "Anaconda" maneuver, the hopeless encircling of the enemy. The circle is nearly complete and the Victors can make good use of the vast, contiguous, empty northern tier states. We can combine them into one territory and encourage, via whips and cattle prods, Republicans from elsewhere to emigrate, to self-deport to the new Kingdom of Diaperdom.
