BREAKING NEWS: Air China CA981 Returns to Beijing Due to "Threat Information"

On Aug. 29, Air China posted a short message on its Sina Weibo page at 20:18 saying "its flight CA981 has returned to Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) for the safety of passengers, and the reason was due to 'threat information'."
According to VeryZhun, a leading flight status information provider in China, CA981, using a Boeing 747-400 jet, was operating a flight from Beijing to New York, it initially departed from Beijing at 13:30, but arrived back in Beijing at 20:26. The carrier expects a new replacement flight to take-off from Beijing at 23:55.
