India’s daily Covid-19 cases
pass 400,000 for first time
as second wave worsens
(BBC)
I read in the Quasi's yesterday that although scientists are looking into it it does not seem to be the Indian homegrown two-headed mutant that is powering this second wave, it is the British variant. (?) But that's been around awhil...Oh. No, it hasn't it, has it? It was near the beginning of winter wasn't it when the British variant got so much press here in the colonies. India is a former colony, too. Did the U.S. ban travel from Britain? I remember a very close British-American couple living in London, came to the States for Christmas. She, the American, was pregnant and they brought a toddler with them! We were appalled. I thought it was so irresponsible I didn't visit them. Travel was restricted but I think on the British end, not here. Anyway, man this thing plays with your memory. It's like B.C., before COVID, which is fuzzy in my mind, I feel naked now if I go out without a mask, like I do if I don't immediately put my seat belt on. Okay, drifting! ANYway, I bet India caught the British variant from Brits traveling to and from.
