But Manchester has shown this: whatever the hatred in the mind of this pathetic and warped perpetrator – whose name should be forgotten – it cannot begin to match the love and solidarity of Manchester. Those Mancunians who offered their homes to strangers. The taxi drivers who offered free rides home. These were instinctive responses, because it is ingrained in the soul of the people of Manchester to look out for each other.
It is a cliche to talk about the friendliness of the north...But whereas, in other cities, people can be in too much of a rush to bother with niceties, where icy politeness is a substitute for warmth, Manchester stands out. Strangers ask how you are, and mean it. People who have never met can strike up conversations on public transport and on the street: in London, that is seen, quite frankly, as a bit odd. That would have happened in that concert yesterday. That’s just what Mancs do.

Manchester Attacks
Ariana Grande, performing in concert at the Manchester Arena, is only 23 years old. A young pop singer. Many of her fans, many, were young teen girls. They, young girls, were the targets of this apparent terror attack. This was hate, pure evil, and it will engender pure hate.
More Trump Attempts to Obstruct Justice, Impeachable Offenses
Trump made separate appeals to the director of national intelligence, Daniel Coats, and to Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency, urging them to publicly deny the existence of any evidence of collusion during the 2016 election.
Coats and Rogers refused to comply with the requests, which they both deemed to be inappropriate, according to two current and two former officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private communications with the president.
Trump sought the assistance of Coats and Rogers after FBI Director James B. Comey told the House Intelligence Committee on March 20 that the FBI was investigating “the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.”

Current and former senior intelligence officials viewed Trump’s requests as an attempt by the president to tarnish the credibility of the agency leading the Russia investigation.
A senior intelligence official said Trump’s goal was to “muddy the waters” about the scope of the FBI probe at a time when Democrats were ramping up their calls for the Justice Department to appoint a special counsel, a step announced last week.
Senior intelligence officials also saw the March requests as a threat to the independence of U.S. spy agencies, which are supposed to remain insulated from partisan issues.
“The problem wasn’t so much asking them to issue statements, it was asking them to issue false statements about an ongoing investigation,” a former senior intelligence official said of the request to Coats.

In addition to the requests to Coats and Rogers, senior White House officials sounded out top intelligence officials about the possibility of intervening directly with Comey to encourage the FBI to drop its probe of Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, according to people familiar with the matter. The officials said the White House appeared uncertain about its power to influence the FBI.

LeBron James who was, once again in a fairly big playoff game, missing in action. Bizarrely missing in action, and it was shades of what happened against the Boston Celtics in 2010 in his last go-round with Cleveland the first time, and shades of what happened in the Finals against Dallas - when LeBron just inexplicably shrank and disengaged and didn’t even want to touch the ball through the last quarter and a half of the game. He did not make a basket, LeBron James, for the last 19:12 of the game. He made a free throw.

"James Disappears"
If you google that as I just did, you'll get, humorously to me, Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance in 1975, the disappearance of Jim Thompson, who I had never heard of, in 1967, but the top entries, tweets and other immediate social media comments are on who I was searching for, LeBron James.
LeBron James has been typical playoff Big Games James this post-season and Cleveland has been unbeatable, literally. Today Boston's coach called Cleveland's lineup "perfect." Through 2/12 quarters they were and led the overwhelmed, overmatched and minus-their-best-player "Celtics" by 21. And then LeBron James did something he had done before, with more apparent reason, in 2008 against Boston, in 2010 against Boston again (his last game in Cleveland, Part I) and against Dallas in 2011--LeBron James disappeared.
James disappeared against Boston for the fourth time in his playoff career, this time in the friendly confines of Dan Gilbert's Pawn Shop, and this "perfectly constructed" team self-destructed, coughed up that three touchdown lead and LOST 111-108. After blowing the "Leprechauns" out by 40+ in Chowder Town the game before.
James played 45 of a possible 48 minutes and scored 11 points, shot 4/13 and had six turnovers. "I didn't have it tonight," said Himself, and that may be all there is to it, but that's not all there was to his previous vanishing acts, they were canaries in coal mines of deep dissatisfaction that led to change, in direction of the teams he played for and ultimately in direction he took his talents.
We all have days when we "don't have it" but James hasn't had those days in the playoffs, except for those three others and those weren't just days he didn't have it, those were days when he had had it, when he had seen things that he couldn't accept. Only God in heaven knows what this disappearing act after 10 straight wins this post-season is about. Maybe he just didn't have it and there is no subtext. If so, that'll be the first time.
