I come back to the telescopic perspective. I believe President Biden should drop out. Others don’t. That’s fine. I believe he is unfit but the second most unfit. I know of no one who disagrees. Others think Biden is fit for the next four months. We will vote for him and he may yet win.
But we’re not choosing a person to run a sprint. We’re choosing a candidate to be our nominee for president and to serve four more years. Nobody can argue with a straight face that Joe Biden is physically and mentally equipped to run that marathon. He will die or be physically or mentally incapacitated during a second term. It is not reasonable to think otherwise. He should step down but he won’t and I will vote for him with resentment that I have to make this Hobson’s choice.
