Transformational

The ACC’s updated Mensa Airplane Conference using the hub-and-spoke transport model is transformational of conference college athletics. It is the new paradigm. It links several similar academic and athletic institutions, establishes a new identity for the ACC as the cutting edge conference and, I predict, will open full new streams of revenue for the conference that will close the financial gap with the Big Two, SEC and B1G and stress and tempt institutions in, primarily, the B1G, the conference most similar, to join the ACC. Irrational exuberance it may turn out afflicts me but there is a reasonable path that I, at least, see. The hub-and-spoke is, I think, a potential game changer. There is No Doubt now that the ACC is the Mensa Conference, a big time football Ivy League. And we have never had that possibility before. The ACC has found the key in dusty 1959 that unlocks both strong boxes that kept academics and athletics separate.
