A.O.-C. Is Okay With Me

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the Democratic-Socialist nominee for the 14th CD of New York City. She waxed the Democratic incumbent by 15 points. She "faces" the Republican nominee, some professor who is, redundantly, a cuckolded Republican and is excited by humiliation and will have the most intense orgams of his life when down-to-earth, smart, confident, quick with with the quip, smolderingly sensuous AO-C violates the Republican's anoose with her power heels in November and renders that cavity flapping in the wind for the rest of his days.

This is a famous painting of Vladimir Lenin addressing the Congress of the Soviets in 1917 on the eve of the Russian Revolution.

A Russian website updated the painting for the Russian-led American Revolution of 2016.

The Cult of Trump

Olivia Nuzzi@OliviaNuzzi
The problem with a lot of Trump writing is it fundamentally misunderstands his supporters

Olivia Nuzzi@OliviaNuzzi
They largely do not care about his various policy positions to the degree that he even has policy positions. That's not what it's about.

Olivia Nuzzi@OliviaNuzzi
They do not care...what he said last week vs. what he said this week. They don't care!

Olivia Nuzzi‏@OliviaNuzzi
They care about him.

“What do you like about Donald Trump?” Ted Cruz asked a group of Trump Cultists.

“Everything. Anything that Donald Trump talks about that’s what I’m about.”
---

"Everything" and "anything" Trump says. Let's submit that to a gut-check. If Trump had run as a populist Democrat (he was a Democrat) instead of as a racist-nationalist Republican and attacked Republicans and racists exactly as he attacks Democrats and left-wingers now, in the same tone, would the Trump Cultists still "not care"? Would the they still "care about him" and like"everything and anything if he wasn't a racist-nationalist?

That is hard to do. I've altered some of Trump's tweets below to fit test conditions. How does your gut react to these?

"Google search results for 'Trump News' shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake News Media. In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake Fox is prominent. Democratic & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal? 96% of....results on 'Trump News' are from National Right-Wing Media, very dangerous. Google & others are suppressing voices of Democrats and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!"

"I just cannot state strongly enough how totally dishonest the Right-Wing Media is. Truth doesn’t matter to Fake Fox and Bad Breitbart, they only have their hatred & agenda. Enemy of the People!"

My gut reacted more to the second, shorter tweet. I buy "Fake Fox and Bad Breitbart"! I know Democrats would but that's not the test. The test is would the real Trump Cultists still "care about him," still like "anything and everything" he said if he called Fox and Breitbart racist-nationalists and the "Enemy of the People!"? No. I cannot see that. Message matters to Messiahs and False Messiahs alike.

"They are challenging our democratic state."

8,000 far-rightists and Nazis briefly took over the streets of Chenmitz, Germany in anti-immigrant protests over two days. The protests were sparked by the stabbing murder of a German man by an Iraqi and a Syrian.

Via The New York Times:

“They are challenging our democratic state in a way they have not done before,” said Barbara Ludwig, the mayor of Chemnitz, a Social Democrat.

"...slogans heard on the streets of Chemnitz this week — from “lying press” to “Germany for the Germans"...

"...some flashing Nazi salutes, the angry mob..."

I see the hand of Vladimir Putin here.

Ciao, Italy. First time ever at #1. Fuck you Unknown Region.
"...senior officials talked about inviting Rudy Giuliani and a group of Trump’s New York real-estate friends including Tom Barrack, Richard LeFrak, and Howard Lorber to the White House to stage an “intervention” last week.

"But Trump refused to take the meeting, sources said. “You know Trump—he hates being lectured to,” the source added.

That means "talked sense to."

“Trump is nuts,” said one former West Wing official. “This time really feels different.” Deputy Chief of Staff Bill Shine has privately expressed concern, a source said, telling a friend that Trump’s emotional state is “very tender.”

Oh. That is different.

"Even Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are unsettled that Trump is so gleefully acting on his most self-destructive impulses as his legal peril grows.

...Cohen’s plea,...Manafort’s conviction...followed by...Allen Weisselberg and...David Pecker...cooperating with federal prosecutors, have rattled Trump like few other turns in the investigation have, sources said.

"...Trump seemed “bummed” and “down and out,” a person briefed on his mood told me. “He was acting like, ‘I know the news is bad, but I don’t know what to do about it,’” the source said.

Hold on there, Fairies, that is bullshit reporting. You don't get to quote "a person briefed on his mood"! You can quote someone who saw his fucking mood but not someone who was "briefed" on his mood by someone who saw. I CALL HORSESHIT ON THE FAIRIES!

Trump Is Nuts

-------------
We interrupt this excerpting of the Fairies to bring you a video by the Fairies with an interview with Ex-Quasi's executive editor Dean Baquet, among others. For example:

"The way you would cover a president before Donald Trump is you would cover everything the president said...If they said something, you covered it."

Well, I think they still do too much of that. The Times and everybody else.

There are not just leaks from the Trump regime, there are leaks from people who work for Trump who make Trump look very bad. This is from Matthew Rosenberg, national security reporter at the Times:

"...even when people are leaking, they are leaking on behalf of their bosses."

Baquet:

"One of the challenges for us is to cover him...as a president who publicly says things that are false."

"In the beginning we covered all of 'em [Trump's tweets]...because he was the president."

Sho enuf did.

This is a powerful moment. Matthew Rosenberg's body language, I think you can see, is controlled-emotional, he is upset, pained. That's consistent with his tone of voice and content. There is about a one-second pause between the time Rosenberg comes onscreen there and the time he speaks. He is thinking. That's a good man there, Matthew Rosenberg. He cares and he feels deeply.
"It almost seems childish, you know. It's...instead of engaging about, okay, what is the thing that I'm reporting that is bothering you. Why do you think what we're doing is somehow wrong."

I wish the Fairies would have let him finish. When they come back to Rosenberg it is not to this same place, the camera angle is different, and Rosenberg says,

"Fake news just shuts it down. [the engaging between press and POTUS] So, if we don't want to have a discussion, you're not real."

Yes. YES! That is what it is. It's not just "we disagree" or "that was unfair," it's "YOU'RE NOT REAL"

"To assume that we're cynically out there just trying to make things up because it'll get somebody paid...That, that's that hurts, that's hard to [he pauses] hard to [inaudible] hear.

Unfortunately, this is Baquet admitting that Trump is good for business:

"We went through a period where we sort of lost our mojo a little bit. We were losing audience. We couldn't figure out what the right economic model was. We're starting to figure that out. The best news organizations like the Times and the Post have suddenly gained audience."

Question for Dean Baquet: Does not the Times then have an economic stake in Trump continuing to be president?

Back to VF's article:

"By the weekend, though, his anger had returned. “He spent the weekend calling people and screaming,” one former White House official said. According to sources, the president feels cornered with no clear way out.

Okay, that's enough. A "former White House official" saying what Trump did this past weekend is another bullshit source.

“TRUMP IS NUTS. THIS TIME REALLY FEELS DIFFERENT”: TRUMP REJECTS “WAR COUNCIL” INTERVENTION, GOES IT ALONE

With his closest allies defecting, the president increasingly trusts only his instincts. He “got joy” from stripping former C.I.A. director John Brennan’s security clearance. And after betrayals by Allen Weisselberg and David Pecker, a former White House official says, Trump “spent the weekend calling people and screaming.”

The Alt-Right’s Asian Fetish

"The white supremacists on the far right have “yellow fever” — an Asian woman fetish.
...
"As a commenter wrote on an alt-right forum, “exclusively” dating Asian women is practically a “white-nationalist rite of passage.”
...
"... the white-supremacist Asian fetish is no contradiction.

"It exists at the intersection of two popular racial myths. First is the idea of the “model minority,” (1) in which Asian-Americans are painted as all hard-working, high-achieving and sufficiently well-behaved to assimilate. If Asians are the model minority — if that is how nonwhites can find acceptance in white America — then perhaps that opens the door to acceptance from white supremacists."(2)

(1) I can see that. That's a MYTH?
(2) My head is in a fog and I cannot understand that sentence right now.

"The second myth is that of the subservient, hypersexual Asian woman.(3) The white-supremacist fetish combines those ideas and highlights a tension within the project of white supremacism as America grows more diverse — a reality that white nationalists condemn as “white genocide.” The new, ugly truth? Maintaining white power may require some compromises on white purity."(4)

(3) That's a myth :(
(4) Ah! So race-mixing is "white genocide".

"In reality, Asians are rarely considered white, and the model-minority myth obscures the vast differences among Asian-Americans. What’s more, the myth helped to strengthen America’s white liberal order, which claims to uphold diversity while also being anti-black. It legitimizes white America’s power to determine who is “good” and to offer basic dignity and equal rights.

"The model-minority myth exists alongside another dangerous and limiting idea — one that is consistent with the alt-right’s misogyny and core anti-feminist values. The main problem with white women, as many alt-right Asian fetishists have noted, is they’ve become too feminist. By contrast, Asian women are seen as naturally inclined to serve men sexually and are also thought of as slim, light-skinned and small"(5)...

(5) "Small" means "tight," as in "tight pussy." ("Stereotypes about the... immediate sexual accessibility and availability of Black pussy are abundant and evident in porn titles and action. The same is true of myths about the inherent purity of whiteness, the exoticism and fire of Latinx performers, the natural tightness of the tiny Asian, etc."-Sherronda J. Brown (I love when women say "pussy.")) So all of this is myth, huh? Stereotype? That is extremely unfortunate. And by contrast do all White "feminists" have pussy that hangs like wizard sleeve in the opinion of Nazis?

"The stereotypes that feed the Asian-woman fetish are not exclusive to the far right.(6) They exist across the political spectrum and infect every aspect of life — not just the bedroom — and manifest themselves in figures as distant from America as the blond-haired, blue-eyed heroes and hypersexualized heroines of Japanese anime."(7)

(6) Never had a "thing" for Asian women. Was swarmed over by Chinese girls like locusts the one time on my first trip to Beijing that I ventured down to the "Oriental Plaza" beneath our hotel without my blond-haired blue-eyed girlfriend.
(7) That's a stereotype too! It's stereotypes all the way down, huh? Is there ANY hypersexualized subset of human femaledom? How about Jewish girls? No? Alright then.
"...alt-right furries.

" I happened upon photos of alt-right furries draped in Confederate flags, hoisting up pro-Trump signage, worshipping swastikas, and proudly extending their paws in the Heil Hitler! salute. I soon found myself down the rabbit hole with #AltFurry, #BroniesforTrump, #AltBrony, and #AnimeRight hashtags on Twitter. I regret my subsequent Google searches, which led me into unfamiliar corners of the internet where terms like “furry supremacy” and “The Furred Reich” lay waiting.

BroniesforTrump? What the fuck is a Bronie?

Is this a sexual fantasy? Like you                                                                                                             have sex with people dressed like                                                                                                             animals? Or is this a disguise for                                                                                                              Nazi/Trump...orientation like they                                                                                               don't want to show their faces?

"A plethora of thoughts and questions were conjured up in that moment—the first being, “But why, though?” I am familiar with race play (and the things surrounding it) as a concept in BDSM and kink...

So it IS about sex! How do you know if you've got the...right kind for you, the gender I mean...Guess it wouldn't matter duh.

"...but I never allowed myself to think critically and deeply about this phenomenon until the moment I found myself staring at my phone with a bright red, Confederate flag-clad, Trump-humping fox looking back at me.

What do you do, lift up the tail and fuck them in the ass? I'd do that.

"...I arrived at the conclusion—which perhaps is not necessarily a novel one—that because white supremacy has a compulsory preoccupation with power, violence, and domination, sexual fantasy creates an opportune space for the white superiority mythos to not only manifest itself, but also to flourish. The exploitative dehumanization of and dominance over Blackness provides white gratification in both the social and sexual arena.

How does fucking a person dressed like an animal foster White superiority? I am asking, I do not know what the fuck any of this is about. Are there Democratic furries? Ah, it's an alt-right thing, she said that. Nazis, Trump. Okay. Wait, but she also described that Confederate Fox a a "Trump-humping" fox. So does the individualoid inside that costume want to fuck Trump in a nasty, violent way --"I'm gonna fuck you in the ass and make you my bitch you Orange BITCH.--I would do that.--or "make love" with him because they love him? These are important questions.

"Neo-Nazi porn is immensely popular at the moment and I resent the fact that I now possess this knowledge.
You and me both baby.

“Cuck” has reared its head as one of the relatively new favorite insults hurled by the GOP and the alt-right against other white people who they feel are not conservative enough. As a shorthand for “cuckold,” this term comes with racist and pornographic undertones that white men exploit as a way to transmute their fears about loss of power into a weapon against other white men. Derived from a popular pornographic scenario in which a white man is cuckolded by, and obliged to watch, a Black “bull” fucking his white wife, this insult has layers.

Like my-brother-the-klansman.

"Fear of...the Black phallus gaining sexual power over white cuckolds and miscegenating with white women— ...

How come Black is capitalized and white isn't?

"...is also a fear of sexual and social humiliation. Both of these fears are tied up with the fetishization of power and power play. And these fears often result in apocalyptic whiteness, a violent response to the white genocide fable."

What the fuck is the white genocide fable?

We're fucked.

"Looks Like Paul Manafort Blew His Chance at a Plea Deal"-Law&Crime

Yeah, it do.

Put yourself in the position of those poor prosecutors in front of T.S. Eliot for weeks; of Man Fort insisting on putting them threw that torture and now looking at double-digit time in Club Fed. "Hey Greg Andres, goo buddy, let's make a deal"? The response of the undersigned to such a proposal would be along the lines of the following, perhaps following these lines exactly:

"FUCK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON. FUCK YOUR FUCKING CLIENT AND HIS FAKE HAIR AND FAKE SKIN AND THE WORST CLOTHES OUTSIDE OF A PIMP. TELL HIM I'LL SEE HIM IN 240 YEARS."

Coupla legal beagles chimed in this weekend on Boy Trumpie.

Alberto Gonzales, Bush43 A.G., gave a rare (AlGon don't talk so good.) interview, excerpts of which I had to read a coupla times to understand. AlGon said the Boy's constant criticism of A.G. Jeff Sessions without firing JeffSess makes Trumpie look "weak." After I re-read that a coupla times I understood AlGo's pernt. I don't know, I never took the Boy's threats as sign of weakness but as weathervane and the wind is blowing from the East for JayEss.

And The Dershowitz who is a recklessly fired projectile when a microphone is in his range opined that the Boy has more to fear from the SDNY than from the Special Counsel. No constitutional protections there and AlDer sees constitutional protections out the ass on the Mueller probe. But SDNY is a federal agency. Could the Boy not fire the U.S. Attorney there and get rid of his nettlesome gumshoes who are all in Conehead's shit and have granted immunity to Boy Trump's Mob Treasurer Allen Weisselberg? Could he not pardon Conehead and Weisselberg? I think he could.

AlDer has four points of light for the Boy:

"Look, my advice to the president — I never gave it to him privately because I’m not his lawyer, but on television — is:
(1) Don’t fire,
(2) don’t pardon,
(3) don’t tweet and
(4) don’t testify.

As codicil to (4) Witz said this:

(4a) "it would be good for the American public if President Trump sat down and said everything he knows, but it wouldn’t be good for President Trump. And that’s why his lawyers are so strongly recommending against it.”

Yes, it would be good for Boy Trump; no it would not be good for the country and this Trump lawyer manque does not owe that advice to a non-client but insists on giving it anyway when one of those attractive nuisances, the microphone, is nearby which is why AlDer don't get invited to dinner no more on the Vineyard.

And if he listened to those four things, he’d be in less trouble than he is today,”

Oh, AlDer is right on the money there but the Boy has already fired Comey and Lindsey Graham (And one or two others? I forget.) has pretty much given Trumpie the green light to whack JayEss. He seems to be on the brink of doing that but he has been on that ledge before and stepped back.

Don't tweet is strawman advice. Boys can't help themselves and that horse is out of the barn and has cleared the nearest ridge. He's gone.

Don't testify is sound advice but it is not AlDer's advice to give but he keeps doing it and I don't think Trump will. I think he grudgingly knows that his lying is congenital, he can do nothing about it and if he does it in a formal Q and A with Mueller he is a very foolish Boy indeed. Witz is correct about the codicil, too. Trump's lawyers don't represent the American people, they represent the Boy "president" and it is good lawyering to recommend against sending their execrable client into Muellerton only to have him come out with the inevitable perjury article of impeachment.
This is such a cool graphic. From Reddit via my son:

U.S.-Soviet/Russian Arms Sales since 1950

We. Were. Attacked.

Good article by Roger Cohen Friday:

"[Trump's] supporters, and there are tens of millions of them, never had illusions. I’ve not met one...who did not have a pretty clear picture of Trump. They’ve known all along that he’s a needy narcissist, a womanizer, a lowlife, a liar, a braggart and a generally miserable human being. That’s why the “Access Hollywood” tape or the I-could-shoot-somebody-on-Fifth-Avenue boast did not kill his candidacy.

"It’s...why the itch to believe that the moment has come when everything starts to unravel must be viewed warily.

"There’s a deeper question...Americans elected Trump. Nobody else did.(1) They came down to his level. White Christian males losing their place in the social order decided they’d do anything to save themselves, and to heck with morality. They made a bargain with the devil in full knowledge. So the real question is: What does it mean to be an American today? Who are we, goddamit? What have we become?

"Trump was a symptom, not a cause. The problem is way deeper than him.

"...the insidious malignancy of Trump...will not be extirpated overnight."

All true, but not all of the truth. We analyze this as a domestic concern--"Americans elected Trump." "Who are we, goddamit?"--at our peril. We should not forget,

We
Were
Attacked

Russian dezinformatsiya influenced the Lowlifes. The 2016 campaign was so foreign to uninfluenced Americans that we did not recognize it as foreign, as Russian. Look at the way politics is practiced in Russia. Now look at how politics has been practiced in America since 2015. Trump's racist nationalist rhetoric was right out of the Russian political playbook. The plays were sent in to the Lowlifes by Bannon and Breitbart and Fox. It was hidden in plain sight from the rest of us who do not read or watch Breitbart and Fox. I did not know what Breitbart was until my-brother-the-klansman sent me one of their propaganda pieces as legitimate news. I got Breitbart confused with the Daily Beast. I had never heard of Steve Bannon. We, the Uninfluenced, missed the "dog whistles," they rang tinny in our ears but we didn't know at the time that it was Russian tin making that ring. We didn't understand the message. The Lowlifes, who had long been eagerly lapping up what they were now being spoon fed, got it. That tinny ring was music in their ears.

Putin and his disinformationists did their homework. They analyzed the American electorate with precision. The seeds of an authoritarian, racist, nationalist politics could not have found more fertile ground than in White America: the isolationist paranoia of the Declaration of Independence, the steady mutation of constitutional Republican democracy into mobocracy, the embedment of slavery in that same Constitution, the Second Amendment to the Constitution, Civil War, the paranoia-messianic type of the Great Awakenings, unreconstructed Reconstruction, the Klan, Jim Crow, the Dixiecrats, McCarthyism, The Authoritarian Personality, the Civil Rights movement, the Southern Strategy, the browning of America, culminating in the first "Blackish" POTUS. That is who we are goddamit. "The problem is way deeper than Trump" indeed! The roots run back to America's founding.

But I ask Roger Cohen and all diagnosticians of this "insidious malignancy" this: Given that that is who we are and always have been, why did the Catastrophe happen in 2016? The answer is:

We
Were
Attacked
