Steve Kerr, GSW, post-blowout loss to "Heat" Jan. 7:
Video captioned: "A very discontented Steve Kerr."
"We feel deflated right now. I expected better energy. I think we're suffering from a crisis of confidence right now, frankly. You can see it. You can feel it. I don't mind missed shots, but I mind when missed shots affect the defense and the attitude. We have to bring more fire. And that was what was most disappointing tonight, was I just felt like everybody was down and we didn't have a competitive spirit. "
Steph Curry:
"You're trying to figure it out. Everybody in the locker room is kind of searching a little bit...Bad possessions on offense that affect our confidence and body language and the vibe."
JJ Redick, La-La Bron-Bron, post-blowout loss to "Heat" Dec. 4:
"I'm embarrassed. We're all embarrassed. It's not a game that I thought we had the right fight, the right professionalism. ...There's not a sense from me that we're together right now. And that's what we say in the huddle. Doesn't feel that way. Doesn't feel that way. And, again, we're in a tough stretch. And we're all trying to find it."
Now what's my point with this? My point is that the "Heat" do this to teams sometimes; they make them question their very identity. Who are we? Are we professionals? Are we any good? The "Heat" get into other teams' heads sometimes. I haven't read a study on this or anything of the like, but I do really think that no other random, middling team does this with the frequency that the "Heat" do. We did it last season to the "Lakers"! Really messed with their heads. "Heat" Culture to me is mental steel. We have more will, more mental toughness than other teams. I truly believe that. NOT more talent.
