Manchester City beat odious Wolves (1 win, 5 draws, 17 defeats) yesterday 2-0 in the City.
Last night, the Miami "Heat" pummeled the loathsome Angel Moronis (15-31) 147-116 by the Great Salt Lake. The Moronis were without their arch-angel Lauri Markkanen (27.9 ppg). Miami's win percentage as a decimal rose to .522 which equates to 43 (rounding off) wins over 82 games. The "Heat" remain in 8th place in the Least. They have not won even two consecutive games the month of January. They will try to accomplish that feat tonight in the Valley of the Sun.
Today, Manchester Unitard bested no. 1 Arsenal 3-2 in an "anxiety-ridden" Library. Arsenal's lead over City and Aston Villa is now down to four points and we own the tie-breaker on goal difference over both of the others. That is a shock result and major news in Games.
Books
I am reading an old (1981) science-for-dummies book, The Enchanted Loom, subtitle Mind in the Universe, by Robert Jastrow. Old because much of the book is on the similarities between computers at the time and our brain's electrical wiring. A good deal of the book has to do with how brain's on Earth evolved over billions of years, and hence on Darwinian evolution. The book may be outdated, I am not a scientist. It is certainly not state-of-the-art unless that art has not evolved since Phil Collins released In the Air Tonight.

Rule 110 had a Creator, Stephen Wolfram first thought it up, Cook created the conditions on a computer and ran the rules of action proving the universality of Rule 110.
But. Rule 110 was one of 256 of Wolfram's Rules. How is it that life on Earth got the only Rule that resulted "always towards greater intelligence" ? Simplistically, that sounds vanishingly unlikely; actually it sounds to my simplistic brain impossible.
Could there have been a Creator who set Rule 110 to work on Earth (and nowhere else) and just let the thing "evolve"? Staunch Darwinians have their own simplistic retort to that: "Yeah, well then who created God?"

My heart goes out to the family of Alex Pretti and to the entire Minnesota community who are under attack by Trump’s ICE and Border Patrol terrorist thugs. Pretti was murdered in cold blood by Border Patrol gestapo. He didn’t incite anything or threaten anyone. He was helping female protesters who were getting brutalized by the Border Patrol sickos when he was pepper sprayed and gang-tackled to the ground. He was bludgeoned on the ground before being shot repeatedly and killed.
This isn’t my opinion. This is what happened. This isn’t my perspective. These are the facts.
It does not surprise me that the Trump regime is calling Alex a domestic terrorist who had an agenda to massacre Border Patrol and ICE. This regime is made up of despicable and vile humans who lie about everything. They are terrorists and horrible humans.
What makes me livid, and what should also come as no surprise, however, is the coverage from CNN and CBS and Politico and of course Fox and frankly all corporate news. They have all parroted regime talking points that Alex Pretti was resisting and that somehow having a concealed handgun with a lawful permit made it justifiable to kill him. Alex did not brandish his weapon. He was holding a cell phone. Alex was not resisting; he was attacked and bludgeoned and murdered.
Of course we all know that CBS and Fox are regime media. But frankly, all other news media is as well, perhaps to slightly lesser degrees, but they are regime media nonetheless. They all deserve to be out of business for trying to “both-sides” and sane-wash what just took place.
It is obvious that independent news is more important than ever right now. We have had on-the-ground reporting in Minnesota thanks to our partnership with Status Coup, and we’ve been providing coverage all day on our network about what actually took place. Shame on all these corporate news networks for their pathetic coverage.

Videos on social media that were verified by The New York Times contradict (1) the Department of Homeland Security’s account of the fatal shooting of a man by federal agents in Minneapolis on Saturday morning.
The Department of Homeland Security said the episode began after a man approached Border Patrol agents with a handgun and they tried to disarm him. But footage from the scene shows the man was holding a phone in his hand, not a gun, when federal agents took him to the ground and shot him.
(1) NYT is extremely careful in what they report, to a fault imo. It would be typical of NYT to insert "appear to" before "contradict". Here, they do not: "videos...contradict".

Last Call. State of the Least
I haven't updated what was a regular feature here because things are quickly coalescing and the Miami "Heat" are being coalesced out. Miami, 4-6 in their last 10, has lost ground on every team in the top ten except Mamdani City:
We are in eighth place and by my rules are only "hopefuls" for a playoff spot. Before these 10 games we were within two games of the top four and home court.
The Least title is Zollner's to lose. The Mamdanis have fallen out of championship hopefuls to third and Beans is more than double the two-game cutoff. Cleveland, Philly, and Disney are home hopefuls, while Wind and Hotlanta are firmly in the play-in with only Beer a play-in hopeful.
The "Heat" are winning at a barely .500 rate, .511, which times 82 = a final 42-38 record.
Bleak.
