I agree. I actually thought DeSantis was being outside-the-boxy, clever, going it so alone--not announcing, ignoring Trump, avoiding getting into food fights with him, avoiding the mainstream media. That is what he has done in Florida. His wife is his most important political adviser. They run his campaign together. I detest DeSantis and wish him nothing but ill but I had to give credit for threading this needle.
Until "territorial dispute." DeSantis immediately self-identified as a moron. Or a (another) useful Russian fool. A card-carrying member of the Republican Surrender Caucus. It showed want an amateurish, mom-and-pop operation this is. This was a complete unforced error. He could have said, "What's the end game?", cleverly signaling but not boxing himself in. Instead the dumb ass goes on 🦊where they fawn all over him anyway and steps on his own dick and crushes it into the sidewalk.
How can DeSantis walk back "territorial dispute"? He can't. "Territorial dispute" is DeSantis' "brainwashed" moment. Not even right out of the box yet DeSantis is another Republican Florida Man.
