Basketball is the only game played at height, Dr. Naismith's great innovation. When the games are good, they're great; when they're great, they're at a level unmatched by any other sport. The players are--by far--the most athletic; their size, their speed, their grace in confined space, their hand-eye coordination, and they move in the air. Many, many NBA players could, and some have, played other sports at the professional level, tackle football, even baseball when it existed. American-made, world-played, professionally-run. I truly believe this: If Adam Silver were Secretary of the Treasury or Fed Chair and the players, who are highly intelligent, accomplished businessmen in their own right, ran America's banks, there would be no "panic", no "turmoil," no mindless, paralyzing "fear"; they would act and act fearlessly, the cowering would be be replaced by can-do, and this bullshit sky-is-falling would be behind us and we would move on confidently to continued greatness. There is nothing like the National Basketball Association.
