The New York football "Jets": where dreams go to die; where hope is crushed into dust; the Nightmare Before Christmas every year since 1969.
And thus tonight. Their new Great Gang Green Hope Aaron Rodgers. On the "Jets" first possession. On their third play. Rodgers dropped to pass. There's always something not quite right when you're the "Jets"; in this case that was 38 year-old Duane Brown. S'posed to protect the QB, Duane is. But he's 38! So he missed a block and a Buffalo "Bill", Leonard Floyd drew on Rodgers unimpeded and sacked him and rolled Rodgers' ankle and Rodgers limped off the field and the "Jets" announced that he was "questionable" to return and then that he was "Out". After 3:20 of play Rodgers was done for the game and who knows how long more. But hey! The "Jets" lead Buffalo 16-13 with 1:22 left! Hope springs in MetLife in New Jersey. It always does. And it is always crushed to dust. It's Jets-ing.
*Update. So of course because it's the "Jets" Buffalo drove from their own 25 to the "Jets" 32 and kicked a tying FG with :02 left. BUT WAIT. Buffalo received on the OT kick, punted after losing a net two yards and the "Jets" ran the punt back for the game winning touchdown!
J-E-T-S! JETS JETS JETS!
