Privately, Trump has suggested he understands that he could lose in November if he does not dramatically change his approach to the race, according to a person with knowledge of his thinking who was granted anonymity to discuss the situation.

I texted to a friend who texted back:

Don’t know that he has the emotional intelligence to do that 

If he does I am worried

I agree 100%, I don't think he is capable of change. He's in serious trouble and it is a bad sign for us that he is not in denial.

 

 *Updated. "suggested he understands": That's really squishy. Open to interpretation by his auditors. He has not said "privately", e.g. "I know I could lose this if don't change." He has "suggested" that he "understands" that he could lose. No, I think he's in denial. He has denied publicly that kamala has any momentum at all.
