God bless Peaceniks

GAWD, did they make a game of it against all reasonably possible odds: Not only were they sans JBIII and Step I but the other guys had the big guy, Joel Embiid. Seven Foot Sixers led 30-10 after one. Then in the 2Q they lost Multiple Recent Assholes Winner Draymond Green to a foot injury. Peaceniks trailed by 22 at HT. But in the second half they found their mojo and nearly found a shocking dub. 24-32 in the 3rd cut it to fourteen. 32-19 in the 4th and you can do the math, they fell one point short. FT Phila. 99 San Fran 98.

It's only the Lizards...

...But Beans not only beat them tonight they squished them, 146-101. Boston has won three straight, two over legitimate teams, at Sensitive City, and home to Mamdani City. They have also won four of five (over first place Least Zollner, and now 13-8 Dire Wolves). After starting the season ohfer three, Beans is now 13-9, in 5th place, one game behind the "Heat" and only four from the top. Impressive, impressive will by Boston.

When the Best in the West Play the Best in the Least...

...The Best in the West win, even in the Least's gym. La-La Lu-ka, 2nd in the West (15-5, now 16-5) just beat 2nd-Least Ontario State (15-7, now 15-8) in Donald J. Trump Place.

Day 53

National Signing Day was YESTERDAY. How did Paterno-Sandusky Do?

7:02 pm:

This makes a lot of sense:

Tyler Donohue

@TDsTake

Recent hours revealed increased confidence from a variety of conversations at Penn State, Iowa State and nationally, that momentum is building between PSU and Matt Campbell.

Anticipated roster resources are an enticing piece. Campbell long considered a "do-more-with-less" coach.

6:26 pm:

Meanwhile, how are things in Blacksburg?

From 124 to 22: James Franklin on Virginia Tech's hot Signing Day finish, which included 11 Penn State flips

Penn State's recruiting has sunk to a new low since Franklin was fired. Now at Virginia Tech, the Hokies' recruiting class is set to be their best in at least 13 years.

Franklin has flipped 10 Penn State commitments to Virginia Tech, sinking the Nittany Lions' class to No. 150 in the rankings, one spot below FCS South Dakota State.

OMG!!!!!!!!

Schadenfreude's a bitch, ain't it Paterno-Sandusky???

Twenty-three players have decommitted from Penn State since Franklin's firing, leaving only two signees in the class of 2026.

Tyoo!!!! lolol

...one of the most stunning turnarounds in recent recruiting memory. Franklin has lifted a class that once sat at No. 124 in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings all the way to No. 22 as night fell Wednesday, which was the first day of the three-day early signing period.

Penn State's botched coaching search turns signing day into unprecedented disaster

...the class is effectively gone.

The damage is staggering.

"Other coaches are looking around going, 'What is going on over there?'" 247Sports recruiting analyst Brian Dohn said during live National Signing Day coverage. "Penn State will come back from it because it's Penn State and it's the dominant program in the region. ... They'll be fine in the long run, but in the short term, 'embarrassing' is putting it mildly."

Kalani Sitake sends Penn State coaching search back to drawing board again as eight targets spurn interest

Tuesday was the most dramatic day of the Penn State coaching search, as their pursuit of BYU coach Kalani Sitake seemed to be completed, only for BYU's donors to rally and lock Sitake into an extension in Provo.

Penn State getting spurned by a Sitake extension continued a trend of their coaching search, where most of the top candidates for the job have opted to re-sign with their current schools rather than make the jump to Happy Valley. At this point...it's not abundantly clear where Penn State turns from here.
...
As Penn State turns to whatever counts as Plan B (or, more accurately, Plan C or Plan D), the program needs a hard look in the mirror. This search has been an embarrassment, largely because athletic director Pat Kraft and the administration have vastly overestimated how the Penn State job is viewed nationally.

This is eerily similar to Steve Pederson overestimating Nebraska's pull after firing Frank Solich.

Penn State has been operating like a truly elite program, but the market is telling a different story. You don't pry coaches from other good jobs or their alma maters unless you're the destination job (see: LSU). Penn State is learning a harsh truth: most coaches don't view it that way.

It's a good job -- but probably the fifth-best in the Big Ten, behind Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan and USC.

Yesterday

Nits nixed again: DeBoer denies PSU job interest

ESPN

Other coaches who were linked to Penn State's search, including Vanderbilt's Clark Lea, Louisville's Jeff Brohm, Georgia Tech's Brent Key and BYU's Kalani Sitake, agreed to contract extensions with their current schools.

Not for the first time, PSU is embarrassing themselves.

Around the Association, Last Call

Sensitive City lost for the 10th time in 23 games to Portlandia 110-122 by Lake Mistake.

Disney (13-9) lost to Tottenham in Borelando 112-114.

Pigeons (13-10) lost in Hotlanta.

Male Deer (10-13) beat Zollner (17-5) in Beer.

Mamdani City (14-7) won.

They call the Eastern Conference the Least, and for good reason. All of the top teams in the conference except Mamdani City lost.

At the end of a night when the dismal "wind was in the East", the playoff standings are almost entirely unchanged.

1. Zollner

2. Ontario State, 2 back.

3. Mamdani City, -2.5

4. Miami, -3

5. Disney, -4

6. Surprising Beans (I'm happy for them), -4.5.

__________________________________________

7. Sensitive City, -4.5 (% points out of the top six)

All and any one of those teams could win this conference, no exaggeration.

FT Dallas 118 Miami 108

Shocking loss against a dysfunctional team. The "Heat" couldn't shoot tonight for most of the game. The final percentages were 40 (30). Heaters and Haters, you are going to be the Washington Lizards if you play 82 games shooting like that. But neither could we play defense. D: 51% (50%). We couldn't rebound: 50- 41. Anthony Davis played one of his quota of 10% games tonight and he was a monster: 17 pts, 17 rebs, 3 blks in 28'. He dominated Bam on the boards and had as many rebs as Bam and Kel'el Ware combined. We played at a running pace, 101 possessions to 91, but when you can't knock down the shots, you might as well keep running! Interesting that given our rebound deficiency our points in the paint were 56 to their 44. It all, or most of it, came down to outside shooting.

We didn't have Norman Powell. I don't know who Erik Spoelstra would have started if he had been game. There's not enough ball for Norman and Tyler on the floor at the same time unless Spo clearly defines who the primary shooter is, and how to choose between Tyler and Norman. But having Norman available would have allowed Spo to sub in either Norman or Tyler for poor Andrew Wiggins, who was terrible tonight, 33' 11 pts 4/18 (1/3). It's hard to believe that all of our shooters except Tyler--Andrew, 3J (3/10), Simone (2/8), Pelle, mainly a playmaker (1/5), and Davion, mainly a playmaker and glue guy, 2/7 (0/2), ALL had off nights on the same night. But it is IMPOSSIBLE to believe that the contagion would have spread to Norman Powell, our highest percentage shooter, when it also spared Tyler.

What Spo could have done even if Norman had been available is play Kel'el Ware more. Kel'el was elite tonight. In 25' he had 22 pts on, note these numbers, 8/11 from the field, 4/5 from range. He also had 10 rebs, 3 more than Bam. He outscored Bam 22-21 while playing three fewer minutes. Dallas had no answer for Kel'el tonight. Imagine Norman and Tyler, Bam and Kel'el on the floor for the bulk of time, with Davion the de facto playmaker. Hindsight is 20/20 but I see the "Heat" smearing Dallas tonight with those five playing as a unit for the majority of the game.

This is the National Basketball Association. Teams are going to go cold. They are going to lose games unless they're Oklahoma City. Miami is 14-8. I'll take that every day and twice on Sunday.

It is

The Penn State coaching search the modern equivalent to the infamous 2003-04 Nebraska coaching search

Neb. spent 41 days looking for somebody, anybody to taken the head coaching position. They got Bill Callahan who was fired after four years and going 27-22. Nebraska football never recovered.

And now in 2025, the PSU coaching search has gone 51 days. They have been turned down more than Trump has for the Nobel Prize.

The great Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley famously said, "When a change is necessary eventually, it must be made immediately." PSU was right to fire James Franklin on Oct. 12. A little known codicil to Foley's famous statement was "I have a list of three or four replacements in my pocket at all times. I'll offer it to all and one will take it." It was a realistic dream list.

PSU had no realistic dream list in mind. Their suit jacket pockets were empty on Oct. 12. Interim Terry Smith's name was chanted by the fans at their last home game. So did the players post-game. At this point, with such a talented roster, with the continuity that Smith offers and a 3-game win streak to back himself up, PSU's best choice is Terry Smith.

Kalani Sitake Punks Paterno-Sandusky to stay at Bee Why Ew?

Where the HAIL are PSU going to find a respectable coach. I have an idea: interim Terry Smith.

Green Beans are giving opponents a "pain in the tummy"

Beans beat Mamdani City tonight in Bean Town 123-117. Beans were a tragic team entering 2025-26, losing Jayson Tatum and off-loading Kristaps Porzingis and they started 3L. Then they had 3W. So a reset back to 0-0 after 6 games. But then they lost 3 of 4 and 4 of 5, and 4 of 6. They were 5-7 on Nov. 11. Since then they have gone 7-2. They have always been Team Yo-Yo. They are 12-9 and 8th in the Least. They are 5 games out of first and 1/2 game from Sensitive City in 6th place, the last slot to avoid the play-in. Their next game is a gimme at Lizards.

Beans are coming, they are respectable already. What's their ceiling? I don't know. But they are a team opponents will be checking over their shoulder more frequently.

Out West it's The Dynasty and "in other action". They are 20-1 and lead Peackniks by 6 after 1 in San Fran.

Serious?

Second boat strike tests GOP loyalty to Trump

Republicans have largely marched in lockstep with President Donald Trump’s campaign to kill alleged drug smugglers off the coast of Latin America. But after the recent revelation of potential war crimes, that unity is starting to show significant cracks.

First, Epstein, then Indiana, now second boat strike.

GOP lawmakers have backed the president amid months of legally questionable strikes against suspected drug boats and increasing tensions with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. But top Republicans now say they must investigate a second follow-up strike in September that killed survivors wounded in the first hit. ...

I don't get what's going on with Trump and his loyalists.

FT Miami (14-7) 140 La-La Clip-Clip (5-16) 123

Every available player for MIA saw at least one minute. All but one of the Clips, who have reverted to being Sterling-esque. The "Heat's" largest lead was 38, L-A C-C'S largest tyoo. It was never a game. The whole 4Q was garbage time and L.A. made the margin less deplorable with a +15 4th.

We shot 53% on 100 possessions. We took an astounding 46 triples and made a ridiculous 52% of them. Not much a game like this is going to tell you.

Individually, some players and numbers that stand out:

Norman was team-high with 30, tied for team high with 32'. He was +33, tied for second team high.

Davion. Unsung "Off Night" Davion. team-high with +37. 16 points, 12 asts, 2 t.o.s (6-1 is exceptional), 2 steals in 31'.

Bam 27 and 14 in 32'

Andrew: 22 in 32, 9 rebs, 3 assts, 3 t.o.s, 3 blocks. That stood out for a guard.

Tyler, among the starters, was once again low man in +/-, still a great +12 if you ignore the blowout. He took 15 shots, 3rd high, played  starter-low.

Nobody on the bench was above water in +/-. In fact, they were albatrosses: -10, -2, -13; Kel'el was -16 in 16'. Every time Kel'el set foot on hardwood he leeched a point a minute. Dru Smith was the anchor man, -18 in 16'. 3J was -13 in 21'.

I'm glad Tyler shot less frequently. Tyler's like a black hole, the ball goes in, it doesn't come out.

Glad that Norman took the most shots. Tyler: Spo wants New Miami. You can't hold the fucking ball; you don't have the green light to shoot at will Let Davion play point and rotate the way the wheel calls for. Learn to pass the fucking ball, Tyler. You had two asts tonight, tied with two others who played 21+ mins. 3J had 5 asts in 8 fewer mins than you. Simone had the same number you did in 8 fewer mins. You are not fitting in, Herro. GET WITH THE FUCKING PROGRAM OR TAKE YOUR TALENTS ELSEWHERE.

I continue to see a Tyler problem that is gunking up a New Miami offense. He needs his role defined point blank.

We're playing .66 ball which translates to 55 dubs if we can keep this pace over 82. We;re in 3rd place, 3 behind Zollner.

The target of the Paterno-Sandusky coach search is...a MORMON!

Kalani Sitake is not melanin-deprived however (but don't tell Pee Esse Ew'ers). Sitake was born in Tonga and is the head coach at Bee Why Ew. Of course he played at Be Why Ew and has led the "Cougars" for ten years, his only head coaching position. His overall record is 83-44, .653, which equates to 8 wins in a 12-game schedule. The "Cougs" were 11-1 this season and 11-2 in 2024.

Interestingly, Kel'el Ware has seen only 8' so far in this absolute blowout (107-71, 4:05 3Q)

Okay, get this...

...Well, first the actual like score, 100-64. We are shooting 57% from the field :o...Wait: And 61% from the Florida Keys.

I think this is the same starting group...

Wig-o

Bam-o

Nahmin

Davion

Herr-o

Tyler, though, has played the fewest mins of the starters, right now 17'. The other four are at 19' and 20'. He has the "worst" +/- of the starters, +15. His shots are down, too, 7 tonight to Nahmin's 12.

"With Tyler Herro in the starting lineup, the Miami Heat have not been the same team."

No, they have not.

And after all the feel-good from the first month of the season, it's pretty clear that the Heat may be facing a major crossroad at just the 20-game mark.

The Heat have won their last two games...

This was written BEFORE indisputably the worst game since Tyler's return!

...but if you've paid close attention, it's pretty easy to see that they haven't been the same team. I wouldn't place all that blame on Herro, but it's no coincidence that he's back in the starting lineup, and all of a sudden, things on the offensive end of the floor seem off again.

Maybe this is just a short adjustment period that the team needs to work through, but the Heat are coming off their two lowest scoring and slowest performances of the season.

The Heat has been a different team with Tyler Herro

If you take the last two games as a sample size, and an extremely small one, the Heat go from being the highest-scoring team in the league to a bottom-5 scoring team. They also go from having the 13th-best offensive rating to the third-worst.

Perhaps most eye-opening, if those statistics weren't enough, the Heat go from playing at the fastest pace in the league to outside the top 11.
...
What if Herro simply doesn't fit the Heat's new playstyle, and what if they have to make a big long-term decision on not only his future, but the overall long-term future of the team?

The org. hasn't extended the supermax contract extension that Tyler is eligible for.

And just 19 games in, it will be 20 after the Heat's Saturday night tilt against the Detroit Pistons, the Heat may have some very big questions to answer.

This could all be moot if the Heat are able to get back to their old ways (and send a strong message in the process) against the Pistons, but if they don't, the noise surrounding all of these concerns is just going to get louder.

Excellent, prescient piece by Michael Saenz, AllUCanHeat.

The NBA has found ‘the way to beat’ the Cavs — and opponents are running with it

There’s a blueprint to beat the Cavs, and the entire league is aware of it. It starts with running right past them.

For all the talk of being a defense-first group, Cleveland keeps stubbing its toe on the most basic part of defense. Getting back.

Friday’s contest against the Hawks didn’t uncover anything complicated in the Hawks’ 130-123 win at State Farm Arena. They ran. They kept running. And the Cavs never found a way to stay in front of them.

Yesterday, of course my beloved Pitt "Panthers" got pancaked there by Miam-uh. Today a heard of buffaloes ran roughshod over the pro team, the "Steelers".

"Steelers" fall to 6-6. In the AFC North that is still good enough to be tied in Ws and Ls with Balteemore. But the buzzards are gathering. Head coach Mike Tomlin was tasked by the owner with winning a playoff game this post-season, not just making the playoffs. Steel are fair to middlin' in the winning biz.

Sensitive City dropped their 9th in 12. They were blasted by San Fran 26-8 in the Mistake by the Lake.

J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS! won their 3rd in 12 today at FetLife 27-24 over the "Falcons".

The Indecision

D-Day came and went. Kiffin and Olé Miss are still standing their, dicks in hands, looking more ridickulous than ever. Shameful. SHAME on both of them.

I didn't follow the game after the 1st quarter...

...So this is what I understand from the box score and team stats.

The 13-0 run at the end of the 1Q, the dreadful early shooting: both are signs of players not being connected, the wrong players, miscommunication among players both on offense and defense, players not knowing their roles (like when to shoot, who to guard). We didn't have those problems when Tyler was out. Our first 13 or 14 games everyone knew their roles, the starters were comme ci, comme ça set, the rotation was predictable, communication was clear as a bell. The last three games were +4 points over a failed team, Dallas, +4 over a one-star team, Beer, missing that star (Giannis), and -3 to a team playing the second of a back-to-back and their third in four games. All of those games at home. The three games prior: +10 at Phila, +36 at Chi., +14 over the winded Peaceniks in Miami.

Now you don't have to be fucking Red Auerbach, or Erik Spoelstra, to see that the wind changed. We ended up shooting wonderfully, 50% from the floor, 48% from range. How do you NOT win a game with those shooting numbers? When you start by shooting 31% and the other guys 78% as were the stats at 5:58 of the 1Q.  And that was before that shocking 13 zip run. No way the wind changed at random. Detroit took five more shots than we did. When you connect on 59% of those shots, in a three-point game that's your ballgame! Clearly we were playing efense, no D. Miscommunication, not knowing roles, a la 13 zip. Why did they have five more shots? You can take your pick: was it that we were outrebounded 43-38? And was that because Kel'el played only 22' and had only 7 boards? Bam had 10. Was it because they were a net +5 (the margin of victory) in their points off our turnovers? How about this? They bullied us in the paint, paint points 76 to 54. Was that because Kel'el was 7th man in and was 7th in mins? It was not because they had a better playmaker: Davion had 10 assists and 3 steals. They had two more team assists but their high man had 8.

Or was it this: "Heat"  starters +/- :
Norman +15
Davion +15
Bam +14
Andrew +12
Tyler -18. CLUNK🚨🚨🚨
Tyler's stat line doesn't betray the reason and I detest the +/- metric, but every team uses it, and in this case the difference is just too stark to discount. We lost because when our All-Star was on the floor, with whomever his four running mates happened to be, we were SMOKED.

This was a game coming in that we should have won. Detroit is very talented, Cade Cunningham is super (29 pts), they are well-coached. But second of second, three in four, 2L, nah-ah, New Miami (not to pile on! without Tyler) would have won this game. Tonight, New Miami arrived late and Tyler was a weight on a chain around our necks, and we got under water. One more stat for you: Detroit's largest lead was 22; our largest lead was tyoo, 7-5, 10:05 1st.We were never in this game.

Good night, heaters and haters!

TOO late. FT "Heat" (13-7) 135 Detroit (16-4) 138

New Miami arrived late: 131 Zollner 135, :10.8

HUGE 4Q run by "Heat"--40-27. So it was 17 points end 3. smh.

The Kiffin Debacle

It's the most embarrassing thing in college tackle football since Paterno-Sandusky's collapse under James Franklin. You'll recall, if you knew in the first place, that today was The Decision. Would Lane Kiffin stay at Olé Miss or vamoose for Elle Esse Ew. "Rebels" AD said today was it, no more footsy, shit or get off the pot. There are less than three hours left in D-Day and still no announcement. Supposably the Lane Train wants his next stop to be in Baton Rouge. But the Train also wants to stay in Oxford just a leetle longer, until his team completes their CFP run. Supposably, the AD told the Train, no and hell no. Already have a temporary HC lined up. Now they're just standing there with their dicks in their hands. Tres embarrassing.

"Heat" 51-61 Z, 3:21 2Q. We got the 1Q deficit down to ~5. Don't think we'll win. Something broke in that 13-0 run.

And that's the end of the 1st. "Pistons" on a 13-0 run to lead 36-23. This isn't "New" Miami.

Norman has 6 pts in 5' on 2/3 (1/2); Tyler is 0/3 (0/2).

We're shooting 31% to their 78.

"Heat" 10-15, 7:24 1st

Spo starts, I think, the same five he did in the previous game: Wig-o, Bam-o, Norman, Davion, Herro.

"Heat" 9 Z 12, 8"09 1Q

FT at Shia Stadium in the Battle to be Bowl Eligible, Ruptures (5-7) 36 Paterno-Sandusky 40

The score suggests a fiercely contested game, a tribute to both teams' players and coaches.

Pigeons (2-10) shat on the Orangemen's (3-9) heads 34-12

My goodness, Flarida (3-8) is SCALPING the "Seminoles" (5-6) 31-14, 14:04 4Q

Wow. The B1G Championship game is a matchup of the two highest-ranked teams in the land: No. 1 Ohio vs No. 2 Indiana

FL is for Losers. FU (3-8) 3 FSU (5-6) 0, 5:24 1Q

It could be a LOT worse...

Syracuse (3-8) 3 Boston College (1-10) 3, 3:15 2Q.

In a lonely field beyond Fort Pitt...FT Pitt (22) 7 Miami (12) 38. You'll never walk alone.

OHIO BREAKS THE CURSE: FT M (15) 9 O 27

"Heat" (13-6) are a 4.5 pt favorite tonight in the Bus vs Z (15-4)

I bet Z is making several players unavailable for rest. This is their third game in four nights.

Ohio has scored again and this one is getting out of hand, too. 9-24, 7:35 3Q in Ann Arbor.

Pitt 7 Miami 30, 5:21 3rd (I don't like us embarrassing ourselves, though)

Pitt (22) 7 Miami Gardens (12) 24, 9:29 3rd. Good night, "Panthers"

I don't care how this season ends, it has been a success. I love Mason Heintschel, I love our other freshmen, I love this team. Pitt aspires to be champions of the premier academic athletic conference in the nation. We have done that. We're not going to pay millions of dollars for a, one, football player, as Nebraska, Miami, Tennessee, UCLA, on and on do. We're the University of Pittsburgh. I love my school. I think Pat Narduzzi has done a very good job in his tenure. H2P

HT M (15) 9 0 (1) 17

HT Pitt (22) 7 UMG (12) 17

Pitt missed a tying FG at UMG 25. Still 7-10

This one stands! A confident call by Ryan Day...

...on 4th and 5 at M 35. He went for it all and got it. 6-10, 11:44 2Q.

Another O TD, another REVIEW!

M (15) 6 O (1) 3, end 1Q

Pitt scored to take a 7-3 lead. UMG just scored to retake it 7-10, 11:07 2Q

O takes the peep. 6-3 M, 4:33 1Q

4th and goal from 6!

O had TD overturned, then got 5-yard penalty. WHAT DEFENSES!

Pitt (22) 0 UMG (12) 3, end 1Q. Pitt on UMG 1.

M's D thought is STALWART! 3rd and goal at 1.

On 3rd and goal from the 5, M commits an unsportsmanlike penalty giving O 1st and goal at 2

Bucks are comin'...

First and goal M 2.

Could be worse! M (15) 6 O (1) 0, 9:42 1st. PROBLEM for M...

You get the ball at the O 25 after an INT. You're already in FG range. You're already up 3-0 at home to the team you give the green shits to. You couldn't get the touchdown. That is bad auguring for you, M. O's defense is sterling as they showed on M's first two dries.

Powerful Panthers (22) 0 Gardeners (12) 3, 4:31 1Q

Duzz, to win a game you have to score "points". You can't even gain yards. Your O line got murdered by ND, now it's getting murdered by UMG.

M INTERCEPTS O! O O O!

Coulda been worse! M 3 O 0, 12:35 1Q

Pitt total yards two drives: -28

Pitt forced a punt, got the ball on own 20. Sack. 4th and 9 at 21. God damn the pusher man.

Coulda been worse!

Meeshigan's first play from scrimmage vs Ohio...a 36-yard run.

Pitt FIRST snap of game: Mason Heintschel SACKED for -10

Opening possession: 4th and 23 from our own 12🙄 C'mon Pitt, Jesus Christ.

City, City, City...

Phil Foden scored in the first minute, then Josko Gvardiol made it two nil in the 25th against sorry Leeks...But then, Leeks scored twice after the break and City needed Phil to ride to the rescue in stoppage time to eek out the win at Etidad Stadium 3-2. That is blushing.

It's Rivalry Week!

At noon:

Meeshagin (15) vs Ohio (1). 'Eyes -9.5

In a lonely field beyond Fort Pitt, a duel but no rivalry, Miami Gardens (12) is -6.5 over Pitt (22). Two of three improbable things must needs happen for my Beloved "Panthers" to make the ACC title game. First, they have to beat the Gardeners; second, this is the either/or: Virginny (18), -8.5, 7 pm, has to upchuck at home against their rival, Va. Tech, who fired their coach; OR Smoo (21), -13.5,  8 bells, has to lose at Cal., who just fired their coach. Go "Panthers" but I'm not holding my breath on any of those.

At 3:30:

I guess this is a rivalry, I don't really know, let's call it a rivalry, the Starbucks Cup, Wershington hosts no. 6 O who are -6.5

Vanderbilt (14) is on Rocky Top (19) who are -2.5.

7:30:

Iron Bowl, at Jordan's Hair, Albern vs Ala-Damn-Bama -5.5

In the Pac-12, SoCal (17) is -21.5 over Uclans.

The heat is gone

As regular as any human female I have been around, little Eleven is in heat once a month for a week.

Male Deer have lost SEVEN straight

God, I love myself.

Longhorns

Texas started the season ranked no. 1. Their first game was a loss at then-3 Ohio. No shame there, if memory serves they were underdogs. Three cupcakes, three dubs and they were 9th heading into Gainesville Oct. 4. GAINESVILLE, home of the Florida "Gators", ex-home of Billy Napier, home of currently 3-8 FU. 'Horns were 6.5 road favorites. Texas never had a lead the entire game. The "Gators" beat 'em 29-21. It was 22-7 with 5 1/2' left in the 3rd quarter! Beeg shame. Rebounded to beat Oklahoma (6) their next game. Close win at KY Jelly; one TD dub at Miss. State. They were ranked 20th going into the Vandy (9) game n Austin. Another squeaker. "Longhorns" 7-2. Leapt to 10th in the rankings before playing betwixt the hedges agin' then-5 Jawja. BEEG game for 'Horns. Got. Completely. Demolished. 35-10. Pretenders! Sarkisian out! 17th. Sooie Pig Sooie, easy win. Crept up to 16th.

That is the season's history of the team that entered 16th, 2.5 home dogs against undefeated, untied, 3rd-ranked (I thought they were best team in country), arch-rival DEI. "Longhorns' took the lead for good midway through the 3rd quarter, a seemingly tenuous 13-10. Then they outscored DEI 14-7 in the 4th to win, really rather easily, convincingly.

Arch Manning, the latest scion of tackle football's First Family, entered college football lore tonight. Although only 14/29 he outplayed DEI's Marcel Reed, who had two INTs. Arch had two TDs, one through the air, the other, weaving through the "Aggies" D on a 35-yard run.

Didn't see this one coming. Did not see a Texas win here. All the eyes of Texas are upon them tonight. I am shocked.

AND THAT'S IT! FT Texas (16) 27 Texas DEI (3) 17. Steve Sarkisian solidifies his job.

Oh my God, Texas is going to upset DEI! It's 27-17, 1:57 left!

Z 2L. FT 109-112 Disney. Hmm.

FT Pigeons (12-8) 130 Sensitive City (12-8) 123

Dystopia Cup: Basers (2-16) 119 Lizards 86, 1:26 4Q

Mamdani City (9-0 4Q) 101 Male Deer (avec Giannis) 88, 10:40 4Q

HT Texas (16) 3 Texas DEI (3) 10

In other action...

7L Queens (4-14) 90 Wobbling Male Cows (9-8) 94, 1:02 3Q.

Mamdani City (11-6) 78 Male Deer (8-11) 75, 5:47 3Q.

In a game of minimal interest to the "Heat"...

...it's Hotlanta 89 Sensitive City 81, 3:07 3Q.

In a meaningful game for the "Heat", Disney and Zollner are locked in a tight one in Fort Wayne. Z lost a tight one to Beans their last game, in the Silver Cup. They lead the Least by 1.5 and 2.5 over the "Heat"," and tomorrow they come to Bang Bus Arena.

Does the ACC have a good record against the SEC?

FT Georgia (4) 16 Georgia Tech (23) 9

There has been ONE touchdown in the UGA-GT game. 16-9 Dawgs, 3:15 left, UGA with ball.

HT Georgia (4) 13 Georgia Tech (23) 3

Georgia Tech (23) 3 Georgia (4) 0, end 1st Q

You know what an Iowa football offense normally looks like. We know what an Iowa offense normally looks like. Matt Rhule and Nebraska football made 2025 Iowa look like the 1984 San Francisco 49ers or the 1999 St. Louis Rams on Friday.

...

Allowing 40 to Iowa in just over three quarters at home is a disgrace.

collegesportswireUSAToday

Oh my goodness...

Iowa (8-4) scored a season's worth of points for them and BLASTED Nebraska (7-5) in Lincoln, 40-16. The "Huskers" who started strong on paper, were made of paper. Their last two losses (at PSU the other) were by a combined 77-26, an average 38.5-13. Matt Rhule does not turn Big Red around in his third season in charge as he did elsewhere. Nebraska can't be turned around.

Nor with half of Americans

"As we have always known”...the idea that the US was Denmark’s largest and most important ally was dead. “Alliances are built on common values and a common threat perception. Trump shares neither of those with us and I would argue he doesn’t share it with most Europeans.”--Jacob Kaarsbo, a former chief analyst at the Danish defence intelligence agency, said the development showed.

Denmark sets up ‘night watch’ to monitor Trump after Greenland row

Holy shit, it's 59 degrees out!

Nothing like taking a feline facial cumshot at 6 am to start your day off just wrong.

A farewell to A Farewell to Arms

I knew it was coming. It didn't help.

I must have thrown the first copy away. I must have been too upset.

I didn't remember much of any of it. But I remembered the ending. It was just as bad the second time.

I made notes to write about, but I'm too upset now.

Maybe I will, I don't know. I'm done with it and I'm glad to be done.

I just threw it off my desk onto the pile of other books on the other side of the desk. I can still see it. I can see it lying there over the top corner of my computer.

I'm done for the night, that's all I know. Good night.

Public Occurrences November 27, 2025

Female West Virginia National Guard Member Dies in Wednesday Shooting in D.C.

Sarah Beckstrom was just 20 years old. May God keep her.

The suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, is an Afghan national who worked with the CIA there. He came to the U.S. in 2021 under the Biden administration. He was granted asylum in April, 2025 by Trump.

Trump put Sarah in harm's way with his provocative, political stunt, "Operation DC Safe and Beautiful", deploying National Guards from red states after seeing homeless people and litter from his limousine on the way to play golf. Lakanwal lived in Washington state and reportedly came all the way to the Capitol to carry out the shootings.

English is the most supple language.

It is also the richest. English-speaking people borrow from other languages freely. I don't know this for sure but I'd bet $10 that there are more words in the English language than in any other.

Why pare that down?

When you write in such a lush language why not use your knowledge to find le mot juste? Why write in a spare style, as Ernest Hemingway did?

Happy Thanksgiving

No "cement" for Spo

Erik Spoelstra on the conversation about the starting lineup amidst now a healthy roster: No "cement" “We do have to make decisions with playing time…we’re 19 games in and we haven’t had an opportunity for a full complement of our roster…none of it will be in cement…” #HeatNation
