Red Legacy in China

Fang Lijun looks back in the cover painting. That's something the government of the People's Republic of China doesn't do.

Truth is killed in China. Along with the people: thirty million during the Great Leap Forward famine, the most catastrophic in man's history. And man-made, Mao-made. THAT'S called "The Three Years of Natural Disaster" in the dialect of Chinese that has been spoken for sixty years in the PRC.

The government instills killing people and truth. Few young Chinese know anything about the famine, they're not taught about it. The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution killed perhaps three million; it is forbidden to study the period in China.

The government can't look back, people would see. They would see all those bodies, and next to the human ones, truth. THAT'S the "Red Legacy in China."
