Democracy in Arabia

We interrupt this reading of the Koran with a news flash from NPR, National Publocc Radio:

"BRING BUSH!"

Thus spoke Nasr Ali, Libyan rebel today according to Reuters.

I laughed so hard when I read that, stuff came out of my nose.

Mr. Ali went on, "Make a no-fly zone, bomb the planes!"  My esteemed Libyan warriors are enduring a rough patch. My heart is with them but my American head says, "no."  The U.S. should not intervene in any way. The esteemed Arab League and United Nations should if they are good for anything--I do not think they are by the way but it's their job.

Arabia uses America and Israel as a crutch. It takes that crutch and swings it at America and Israel for all of its ills--which are substantial--,blaming America for propping up "strongmen" like Hosni Mubarak, the House of Saud, ad infinitum, and Israel because it exists.

Arabia also uses that crutch to lean on for support as here in the sentiment expressed by brother Ali. We have all read how beloved and respected Egypt's army is among the people. That army is American trained, financed, and equipped. And yet: "Hosni Mubarak, Omar Suleiman, you are both agents of the Americans."

Brother Ali, Mina George, Fawaz Gerges, Fleeing Tunisians, Fleeing Egyptians--here's a copy of the Federalist Papers.  Be gone.

And now we return to regularly scheduled programming, "Islam In It's Own Words," in progress.
