Just one line, not even a full sentence, in the middle of an article on the "Knicks". No in-depth explanation, just the impression of one veteran, highly regarded enemy pencil. Those are the reasons that line is so credible. Ask Mike Vaccaro what the "Heat's" average regular season record is over NINE FULL SEASONS and he'd have no idea. He's covering the "Knicks", he pays about the same attention to Miami as he does Denver or Chicago. "Jeez, 'Bulls' suck this year, huh? Didn't they make the playoffs last year?" He has the impression that the "Heat" "more or less" mailed it in. He'd have to check their record to be sure. Vaccaro's impression is correct. Erik Spoelstra's convoluted, contradictory explanation is not.
