It's not Biden vs Trump. This is, for now at least, a democracy. It's Normal People vs MAGA Extremists. The president can do nothing to get MAGA Extremists' votes. He shouldn't want to. Trumpie is the tip of the spear; the entire blade and the staff are MAGA Extremists. He and they are coming for Normal People. He and they have already framed it as Us vs Them: We are "vermin"; we are polluting the blood of the nation. The president should be rallying and hardening we Normals for an existential fight for our lives and our country.Trumpie has won a majority of voters. The president and we Normals don't need MAGA Extremists to win. The president has always been loathe to make MAGA Extremists the enemy. It took some convincing for him to use the phrase. He thought he could unify the country. He can't. The president should say,
This is not about me. Make no mistake, MAGA Extremists are coming after YOU. I'm just in between YOU and THEM. They call you "vermin". They want to take YOUR vote away; they want to take YOUR rights away; they want YOU to lose YOUR jobs they want to lock YOU up. He says he will be a DICTATOR---over YOU. He quotes Putin, he parrots Hitler, he praises Al Capone--because that is what MAGA Extremists want him to be. He's the Leader, the President-for-Life, the Mafia Don. I have an opponent in him and YOU have an opponent in THEM. YOUR lives, your livelihood, YOUR freedom is at stake.
