The "Heat" are now past the half-way point in the NBA season with 42 games played. After losing the last two games they sit sixth in the East, eight games behind Boston, one spot into the playoffs and a tie-breaker over Indiana out of the play-in. Their first half win percentage as a decimal, .571, equates to 47 wins over the 82-game season.
I do think the team will win 50 this season, the mark of NBA excellence, but even that would place us only fifth in the top-heavy, bottom-heavy East. And New York, currently fifth, (OG Anunoby) and Indiana, seventh (Pascal Siakam), have upgraded significantly.
