to your points, as i understand them, there are just some things you cannot apologize for. murder defs who apologize at sentencing. changing her votes to 90% anti-trump...geez, that was a good point. i'd take her votes, i still wouldn't trust or forgive her. votes don't erase Jews control the world with space lasers. but it's a moot point, she isn't going to do that.
the way i process MTG, who said yesterday that she does not worship trump but "Christ, my savior", is that, since i was raised a christian too, i know that the only christian path to heaven is the cycle of sin, confession, punishment, forgiveness, redemption. in christianity you can't get to heaven without acknowledging, i.e. "humbly" confessing, that you are a sinner, that you sinned on this, that, and the other occasion, take your lumps, then you get forgiven, voila!
on another occasion a couple of yrs ago she also apologized, i think for the jews with laser beams thing and, this was key to my reaction today, she said then,
"i was allowed to believe things that weren't true."
think of that: she says she no agency over her own mouth. she said and repeated the jewish laser beam wacky antisemitism because qanon or god or some fucking entity "allowed" her to say those things. she is too mentally unbalanced to make "a knowing and intelligent waiver of her rights" before confessing, ergo you can't believe her confession. she just knows that as "Christ is my savior" she has to 'fess up.
