It's against division rival Cincinnati in the same lonely field beyond Fort Pitt that was desicrated and left pock-marked by the "Fighting Potato Eaters." That is a problem. The field has been criticized as being unplayable for a pro game after Pitt plays there.
Stillers started the season brightly with old man Anti-Vax Asshole Aaron Rodgers as QB, winning four of five. But then came a trade of senior citizen Joe Facco by Sensitive City to these same "Bungals", a trade that head steel foreman Mike Tomlin all but called conspiratorial against Pit. The week after the trade Pit. played Cincy in Ohio and lost 33-31. That first Cincy game was the start of what is now three losses in four games.
Tomlin is in his 18th season in Steel. He has been the target of fan and media grumbling for years. Owner Art Rooney II made it a point in the summer that Tomlin needs to win a playoff game, something they haven't done in nine seasons. The team is 5-4 and iffy to make the playoffs. Getting their is half the job and winning the division is key to that half. At present, the "Steelers" are up a slender point, 7-6, with 5' 11" before HT.
