Rorty, a modern-day proponent of Pragmatism, the philosophy of William James, John Dewey and Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., was the greatest philosopher of this time. A wonderful writer too Rorty was prolific and did much to keep this quintessential American philosophy front and center. He was also a considerate, loving man. He died on Friday, June 8.
