Atletico Madrid knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League just now (the only reason I know is that the match was prominently featured on Espo's home page (undoubtedly because they televised it)) and the only reason I mention it is for American sports fans: Guys and gal-guys, if you think your favorite team's fan base or message board or whatever is insufferable--either way, positive to the point of out of touch with reality, or negative no matter what, you ain't seen nuttin' like English soccer fans.

I don't even check out Twitter anymore when United play or Arsenal play, one of the big clubs. If the big club falls behind, it starts: "Wenger Out," "Kroenke Out", "Manager du jour of United Out",  "Glazers Out," "Rashford terrible." Unlike in the States, this is a one-way street. I was on one time when Arsenal was playing and they fell behind and fucking Piers Morgan was just ripping the owner, the manager, the players, a new asshole. Arsenal tied it and the only thing Morgan tweeted was "Better Arsenal." It is always negative, relentlessly so. And this is the real bitch of it: the fans who were with Morgan bitching and cursing...didn't tweet at all when Arsenal tied it! They went dark. It's like there's some rule if you don't tweet negative, you aren't a "real" fan. It's depressing.

So today, I know what United fans are going to be tweeting, and I have below zero interest. To toss them a sop, it's been five years since the club won a trophy (it was a little sop πŸ˜‚), and this is MANCHESTER UNITED, the trademarked WORLD'S GREATEST CLUB. I get it, a little. But look...you fucking limey bitches LOOK, you were in the CHAMPIONS League, okay? There are sixteen other Premier League clubs whose fan bases would give their left nut to appear even once! For you, it's a birthright.

How many United fans out there know what it's like to get relegated to the lower division, or to have that guillotine realistically looming over you? NONE. I do know what that's like. I went through that before the Revolution with Manchester City. American sporties cannot relate, I know. Americano's it is awful, the most sickening feeling in sport. Americans can always cheer themselves with "Wait Till Next Year!" There is no next year in English soccer when you're relegated, not against City and United and Liverpool and Arsenal, there isn't. There's fucking Huddersfield Town and Millwall and fucking Leyton Orient. United fans, how do you think Everton fans feel today, have felt for some time, and will feel until the end of the season? They are in a real battle for their top flight lives and are this close to having that life extinguished--for the first time since 1954 or something like that, too. Like you, United fans, Everton sucks hind tit in their own city. Like you, virtually every Everton fan has known only top flight football their entire lives. And you're wanting to hang the Glazers (agayne) over getting knocked out of the Champs League? Lie down and take a powder, bitches. And when you get up, grow up.
