Inter Miami, David Beckham's biggest career failure?
The British-owned team is the worst team after the start of the 2022 MLS season
...
Beckham promised a renewed Inter Miami
Ahead of the start of the 2022 season, Beckham sent a strong message to both the team and the league, assuring that "we are winners and we have high expectations... we executed the changes we had to make. We believe in this team and its players."
Barely a few weeks have passed and the results couldn't be worse for Inter. After four games played, they are the worst team in MLS, with three losses and a draw, occupying the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
With two goals scored the Florida team is the worst offense in the league and the second worst defense after conceding 10 goals, figures that seem to reflect that those led by Becks' friend and old Manchester United acquaintance, Phil Neville, are not up to the task of ending this crisis.
Real Zaragoza, Beckham's possible escape
While Inter Miami continues to experience low hours, Beckham and his partner, Jorge Mas, co-owner and CEO of the MLS team, are finalizing the details to buy a 90 percent stake in Real Zaragoza of Spain, another club that is unable to find solutions to its problems.
However, the Zaragoza charter could be an escape hatch for Beckham and Mas as they look to move on and sell Inter Miami to forget what has so far been a dark adventure and possibly the biggest failure in the Englishman's career.
