Average daily Cases fell a whopping 51% in the fourteen days ending March 10. At 35,796/day March 4 through 10, Cases are lower than in any week than the lowest throughout the course of the epidemic in the U.S.
Hospitalizations fell 44% over two weeks to 32,017 in the week ending March 10, also lower than all but the lowest.
Deaths were down 31%, a huge number for this category, to 1,293/day March 4-10. Although the drop has been near vertical since March 1, average daily deaths have not fallen yet to the relative levels seen in the other two categories.
With masking restrictions increasingly lifted across the country (I see fewer and fewer people masked in stores in socially-responsible Miami Beach), COVID-19 seems to be farther from people's minds than at any time since the summer of 2021.
