My daughter has COVID. Fully vaxed and boosted and the same mild symptoms as the prominent people recently, feeling like a bad cold or the flu is coming on, which it never does: scratchy throat, a little under the weather generally, but not enough to prevent her from jogging three miles this morning! But now she has to do the protocols like the athletes do: five days quarantine, miss work, and a negative test before she can come back. Her boyfriend had it. I am sure that all of these positive tests are the new BA.2 Omicron variant, much more transmissible than Omicron-1 but not even as sickening as the original was, which was not nearly as bad as Delta.

Through March 16. Looks like Cases have leveled but are still on a slight down slope but a more granular look shows Cases rose 22/day for the week ending the 16th over March 9-15.

Hospitalizations rose 55/day, a bad sign; Deaths 41/day, a far worse sign. Good grief.

Off the reports of prominent people who were fully vaxed and boosted testing + I wore a mask last night to the grocery store for the first time in a couple weeks. Just pisses me off.
