Remember how Russia claimed Ukraine was trying to gain nuclear weapons only to seize Chernobyl and the Zaporizhzhia plant?
Now, they are claiming Ukraine plans to use chemical weapons on them. And there is an eerie backstory to this. In 2015 Russia claimed loyalists to Syrian ophthalmologist Bashar al-Assad were using chemical weapons on their troops only for it to turn out that two years before Assad's forces used chem. in an attack on a rebel-held town that killed over 1,000, and two years later, in 2017, used chem. again, killing 100. In other words, today's claim by Russia is prelude to Russia's use of chem on Kyiv.
Btw, the Russians cut power to Chernobyl--no incidents yet--making it more unstable and dangerous. Zaporizhzhia is the largest nuclear power plant in all Europe.
