You know what I bet it is with Mike & Tua? Tua got concussed dos earlier this season, si? Si. I read proximately that McDaniel said Tua had to learn what Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers knew: there's a time to give up on a play rather than go the extra slam to the turf to make a play. Save your brain cells and get rid of the ball. My semi-educated guess is that with NFL QB’s having about 2.5 secs to pass, with the brain trust still wanting to make a play, McDaniel and the QB coach tried to save time (and brain cells) by having Tua skip the reading part by “anticipating”, to “let the ball go” to spots where receivers were supposed to be. “Reading is fundamental” but it is also time-consuming. So don’t throw it out of bounds throw it to a spot in the field of play. They’re going to have to try something else, a speed-reading course maybe. Throwing to spots rather than to aqua and orange mammals is going to lose you games, and a season. It was dumb but there was mini-brain thought behind it if that’s what it was.
