Servant S2 E20

Volodymyr Zelensky does for Oxana what Dan Levy did for Alexis in Schitt's Creek. Not as subtly as Levy did in allowing Alexis to morph into the smart, competent member of the Rose family. Zelensky all of a sudden makes Oxana the grand strategist of Vasya's comeback campaign. The campaign has no money, right? And this one public affairs TV shows requires even candidates for the presidency to appear on their show, called Dialogue. It's a debate format. So all the boys and my love are over at the Golobodorko place strategizing again. Vasya's dad goes up to their table and plops down a stack of dollars. (How the eff would this bus driver have the cash money--dollars too--to do such a thing? idk. That's how Zelensky wrote it.) Oxana grabs the stack of money. This is her debut as grand strategist.

Now...she keeps the grand strategy from the boys, who are the ex- and presumably future, cabinet ministers and the candidate. Trust and its flip betrayal is a theme of Servant. Imo however this is taking that theme beyond realism. Vasya, them all, and the country is at stake; the campaign is going to entrust the future to any one person (other than the candidate himself), especially one stepping suddenly from the background into the foreground. That's how Zelensky wrote it. So Oxana's brain storm is to go low tech, to counter the oligarch's money by skipping the entrance fee for Dialogue and film a video to be played on the show of Vasya and the campaign planting trees. It works. One of the oligarchs had told his stooge candidate to pick a fist fight with another's stooge on camera and the contrast between the fight and Vasya planting trees vaults him into first place in the polls.

Turning to Oxana.
