"Their agenda is mostly to defund, disrupt and dismantle government"

...The stalemate [in the Republican caucus] meant the usually routine organization of the new House did not occur and its members were not sworn in, nor could any legislation be considered.

What do you means "members cannot be sworn in"? They were fucking elected! They need the Speaker's permission to take their seats? No legislation can be considered without a SPEAKER in place? Who the fuck made that rule? That's the dumbest ass thing I ever heard of.

The paralysis underscored the dilemma facing House Republicans: No matter the concessions made to some of those on the far right, they simply will not relent and join their colleagues even if it is for the greater good of their party, and perhaps the nation. They consider themselves conservative purists who cannot be placated unless all their demands are met — and maybe not even then. Their agenda is mostly to defund, disrupt and dismantle government, not to participate in it.

This is from the NEW YORK TIMES, not normally an outlet that puts "greater good" in the same sentence with "Republicans" (not that anyone ever should), but "defund, disrupt and dismantle" is nihilistic. Dan Crenshaw, a McCarthyite from Texas, was furious with the nihilist wing today, calling them the "enemy" and Lauren Boebert yelled "Bullshit!" at McCarthy in a closed door speech that McCarthy gave. OUT of fucking control. These Deliverance fascists are OUT of fucking control.
