Special Counsel Obtained Search Warrant for Trump’s Twitter Account

The warrant, obtained in January, adds a new dimension to the scope of the federal inquiry into the events of Jan. 6, 2021.

Why did Jack Smith file this, imo, fatally flawed indictment? Manifestly, this investigation isn't over. It feels rushed, like some clock was ticking against Smith. But there is no such clock. Smith has already filed a superseding indictment in the MAL docs case. To a standard of certainty of clear and convincing I believe that Smith will file a superseding indictment in this case. Unlike MAL, which could not be any more simple and straight forward, this is case is extremely complex. The unavoidable complexity is going to attenuate a trial anyway.  A superseding indictment, one I expect to charge violence, is going to push a trial--and it will be a long trial--deeper into the 2024 election season.  I come back to my original question: Why did Smith indict when and how he did?
