Hamas-Israel War Day 3

Okay. I could not write this yesterday, I was too upset. The stories of Islam's atrocities against civilians in Israel:

-A young German woman snatched away from her boyfriend, kidnapped, murdered, and her naked corpse displayed in the back of a pickup truck as it drove through Gaza, Muslims kicking and spitting on the corpse.

-The massacre of 260 at Supernova, a music and dance festival.

-The murder of a young girl in front of her disbelieving parents and younger siblings in their home, commandeered by Muslims, barricaded in with them.

-The hostage-taking of elderly women and young girls.

On and on.

Over the course of my adult life I have moved from total, 100%, American support for Israel to hands off: After 75 years of state welfare this Israel, the Israel of Likud and Netanyahu does not have my, and does not deserve America's, support. The erosion of my support has been continuous but it has not been without sandbagging supplied by Muslims. The Israeli statesman Abba Eban once said profoundly, "The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity", and every time Israeli bullying and bludgeoning has turned my eye and my soul turn toward the Palestinians the Palestinians themselves have jerked me forcibly back to Israel.

Public Occurrences was started as a place for me to learn and think and write about Islam after 9/11. I read the Koran cover to cover, I read Bernard Lewis' writings, I read, I am staring at its spine right now as I type, In the Shade of the Quran by Qutb. I read the history of Islam's birth, development, violent expansion into southern Europe, its practice of "harvesting the steppes", raids into Eurasia to drag blonde-haired, blue-eyed Christian girls and women with large breasts, large hips and perfect teeth (so went their specs) into sexual slavery in imperial harems, and of Islam's defeat by the Crusaders "At the Gates of Vienna."

And I came to hate Islam.

I was revolted by Muhammad's "turgid" (Churchill) writing, by the violence and hatred of all "unbelievers", especially his great local rivals "The people of the Book"; by Islam's refusal to reform or modernize; most of all by Islam's actions, which were in perfect conformity with its texts. I believe in Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations" as applied to Islam vis a vis other faiths: "Islam has bloody borders".

Throughout its history Islam as it is practiced and preached has been unrelenting in its blood lust, rapine and brutality. Those who stand today with Palestine, those who stand with Islam, say Christianity and Judaism also slaughtered innocents, the young, the elderly, girls and women; Christianity and Judaism also enslaved and raped and massacred. Christianity and Judaism did. But there is no moral equivalence. Christianity and Judaism do not preach and practice slaughter and beheadings and rape. They reformed and modernized. Atrocities are not tenets of those religions, they are beyond the pale of international law. But not of shariah. Only the Turkey, under its great leader Ataturk, modernized. The two great branches of Islam, Shi'a and Sunni, are distilled in their violence today in Iran and Saudi Arabia. Israel is right between these two surpassingly violent, evil Muslim states.

I believe no compromise is possible between Shi'a Iran an Sunni Saudi Arabia on the Muslim side, and unbelievers whether Jewish Israel, Christian, or the irreligious on the other. Powerful Muslim states must be destroyed.

On Day 3 I do not stand with this Israel; I do not stand with Palestine. I stand with innocents. As far as I am concerned Israel and Palestine are on their own. My country, of course, will aid Israel, will save it, again, if it comes to that, will broker a peace, again; America will not destroy Iran or Saudi Arabia. And the clash of civilizations will go on.
