I have watched parts of some of the post-game remarks of Zollner Pistons head coach Monty Williams and he seemed too chill for me under these embarrassing circumstances. He looked and sounded to me like someone who realizes that he made a mistake coming out of the briefest retirement after being fired in PHO. So the question above, from a Zollner Piston fanzine in an imaginary Q&A with Williams, really spoke to me. The questioner continues:
I am not asking this to be flippant or facetious, I'm serious, you ok, man?...This wasn't your first choice, and I get that money was too tempting to pass up... No one would fault you if you just said "you know what? I didn't give myself enough time. I came back too soon." I don't think you should be fired, coach, but consider your well-being here.
Well, I don't think Williams well-being is at stake. Instead, I wish he'd show on the outside that things are not well with him on the inside. I think he should be fired. The players clearly are not buying the shoes he's selling and I him as thinking the players are for shit. Be that as it may I thought it was very interesting that the first question was this.
