President Obama has issued a statement, I don't know if on his iPhone's FaceTime app, that the U.S. position is one of "support for the democratically elected government" of Turkey...Which, when you think about it, is sorta vague! Like: which democratically elected government of Turkey? Erdie's? Then why not say "Erdie's?" Or a democratically elected government in the future, after the coup primaries and caucuses? And like: was Erdie's government democratically elected, like democratically-democratically. Define, "democratically."
Another brainteaser here is NATO, you know, NATO? Turkey is a member, you know. No, really, it is. Yes, it's sorta like West Virginia in the Big XII, like you know it's there but you're like "Huh?" but Turkey really is a member of the NATO Conference. And NATO has this thing, it's called a "treaty," it's like an "all for one, one for all" type thing. Actually it is a "all for one, one for all" thing which holds, inter alia, that if one NATO member institution is attacked all NATO member institutions must come to the attackee's defense. I believe that it is a matter of first impression with NATO if an attack from within a country "counts." Mutual defense treaty-wise. So, I DO NOT KNOW if NATO has any plans to intervene in Cleveland to prevent Herr Fuckface von Clownstick's coup.
