In my opinion the two children above look similarly. I instantly thought of that photograph of the boy at top when I saw the photograph of the girl at bottom.
The children were of similar ages: the boy six, the girl five. They had the same initials, both disppeared, sending their cities into a frenzy, both were murdered, both murders went unsolved for years. Etan Patz disappeared off a New York street in 1979; Elsie Patourek disappeared off a Chicago street in 1911. An arrest was made in Etan's case last year, Elsie's murder is still unsolved.
These coincidental similarities

out.
