U.K. Lawmaker Is Stabbed

to Death

David Amess, a Conservative member of Parliament, was holding a meeting in his local constituency at the time of the attack.

...a 25 year-old man [was] been arrested on suspicion of murder and was currently in custody. The [police] force did not provide any further details about the suspect.

Mr. Amess, a hard-line critic of the European Union and a supporter of Brexit, is the second lawmaker to be killed in such an attack in little more than five years. In 2016, Jo Cox, a Labour lawmaker, was killed when a right-wing extremist targeted her outside a meeting with constituents. Stephen Timms, another Labour lawmaker, was stabbed in 2010.

I do remember Jo Cox.

This is deeply disturbing. I am horrified.
