Now that I some little research I am unsure that blown leads are a “Heat” thing. However there was something else that occurred last season that I forgot about in the post on blown leads, The Random Scrub Heat Killer. In 2020/21, in several games the “Heat” lost games because some M. Garrett on the opposition went the fuck off. It was the damnedest thing, I never was aware of it happening before against multiple scrubs on different teams. It was so strange that local media gave it the name mentioned. I’m trying to connect the two, blown leads and The Random Scrub Heat Killer, but as I conceded I am now unsure if there is a dot for “blown leads” to connect to, and I cannot make a plausible hypothesis on a connection. The Random Scrub Heat Killer however was a real thing, albeit in just one season as I am aware. Both blown leads and The Random Scrub Heat Killer are really strange to me.
Two other things warrant mention. The signing of Victor Oladipo was a mistake, a mistake the outcome of a risk worth taking, but a mistake. More egregiously the trade that sent Goran Drajic away and brought Kyle Lowry in, cut going out and cut going in. The powers at 601 Biscayne will never admit as much but it weakened the team. The front office also traded Kendrick Nunn. With Duncan Robinson’s decline the team has gone from a multi-weaponed assault unit to an offensive-poor team. Eighteen games in the Miami “Heat” are further from an NBA championship contenter than they were at the end of last season.
