The “Heat” had a good second quarter tonight, 35-24, to take a 62-54 lead at the half. They then had a bad third quarter, not a 33-9 bad quarter, but 32-20, and entered the fourth down four. With 9:33 to go Miami briefly re-took the lead on a Duncan Robinson three, 89-88. With 7:34 left Kyle Lowry knotted the score at 94. After that it was all MPLS against a MIA MIA. It was the second of back-to-back games for the “Heat”
Duncan Robinson had another poor shooting night, and was a volume shooter on this night, 6/16 (5/15). Kyle Lowry was a disaster at point guard with 5 assists,
four turnovers, and fouled out of the game after only 23’ of play. Jimmy could not rescue the team, he had an effective but quiet game (rescuers are not quiet), 16 points 5/9 (0/3), 8 rebs, 5 asts, 3 turnovers. Bam had a quieter, less effective game, 18 points on 7/10, 5 rebounds, 3 asts and four TO’s. Tyler Herro could not rescue the “Heat” tonight. He had 16 points on 5/18 (4/11) but turned the ball over 5 times. Erik Spoelstra turned to Gabe Vincent for rescue and Gabe was very efficient, 14 points, 5/9 (4/7) but in only 18’ of playing time.
The “Heat” played good team defense but had no reliable offense and were killed on the boards (52-40) and by turnovers, 21-16. Miami is now 12-7, the “Timberwolves” 9-9 and on a five-game winning streak.
