Okay! End or near end of the early games.
Wake Forest (21) and Clemson (5) are headed to OT tied 38 apiece. Couch burner in the Forest!
UGA (1) was a shocking 45 point favorite betwixt the hedges today. They won, but it was far tighter than expected.
Michigan (4) just met the spread against Maryland, 34-27.
Parity has been an oft-used word. Not so much at the top where the actors never seem to change but these first three games are an indication 1) that the top teams are lulled by the Kents and Marylands, but also 2) that Kent and Maryland, and Rhode Island below, can play.
Pitt (24) handled lower-division Rhode Island easily, 45-24, but 24 points is too, too many for a big football school, and a ranked one, to surrender to such an opponent. Not gonna buy any love from the pollsters, Pitt won't.
PSU (14) was tied early with CMU but pulled away handily 33-14. "Snits" are 4-0.
#17 Baylor won at Iowa State 31-24 dang it.
Ooh boy Auburn got a mucho needed win on the Plains against perennially woeful Missouri 17-14 in OT.
Reads like a real good game out in Lawrence. Kansas remained unbeaten beating back a challenge from now 3-1 Duke 35-27.
Underway at 3:30 are Tennessee-Florida, scoreless and UNC-ND. "Black Soles" already up 7-0.
