I watched extended highlights and I'm not sure how NYJ won. They trailed 14-3 to maybe the best team in pro football. They had this, typically "Jets" opening kickoff.
They had...[t]he game was stopped for 11 minutes because of a broken cable on CBS' sky cam, which caused it to sink close to field level. Asked what he was thinking during the delay, Jets coach Robert Saleh said, "It only happens to the Jets."
But the Almighty sent Richard Todd down in a body transfer with Bulls all-NFL QB Josh Allen. Allen was God-awful. A series of unfortunate events--the turnovers, the penalties, the missed FG--combined with just enough "Jets" un-Jets-like moments to pull the shocker.
They got the ball back near the end of the game on a spectacular punt by the Bulls punter--on their own four-yard line. No problem. We have Matt Snell here, you just think it's Michael Carter, and we'll run the ball eight straight times right at the Bulls defense.
What?
That was the game-winning drive. Damn tarnation.
The "Jets" have belief. Presumably in God but definitely in head coach Robert Saleh (Mo's cousin?). Saleh has brought something mystical to Gang Green and has the players believing that divine intervention "only happens to the Jets."
