Does Pitt (12-7) have a little something going or is this just a tease? They won in HotLanta over the Yellow Rambling Jacket Wreck (9-10) 72-64. That's after the Blake Hinson Inspirational over Dook at Cameron. We will find out Saturday at Miami of Florida (12-6).
Another NBA coach got tossed tonight. Chauncey Billups of Cronin's Disease got T'd up for arguing a call and then came onto the floor, a red line that is auto ejection. OKC is OK and won 111-109. Rick Carlisle got the same demerit for the same reason and got the heave-ho in Indiana Marymount's loss to arrogant Team Fat Boy. There is no excuse for crossing a red line that you know is there indelibly. It's automatic! I don't like tonight. Coaches should have the discipline not to get ejected and Carlisle at least was apoplectic tonight. You have to control yourself as team leader better than these two guys did tonight.
But then there's the officiating controversy that has existed all season in the NFL and the other night in the Association, TEN wrong calls in the last two minutes that decided the outcome of Minnesota-Charlotte. Ten in two minutes is one wrong every 12"! That crew should be temporarily suspended and required to get more training. Ten misses in 120", deciding the game, is going to end in violence.
