Yesterday, the Highbury Librarians traveled down to Bournemouth for a football coastal holiday. Before a meager 11,000 they took a 2-0 L and left shaken and stirred.
Today, Manchester City showed what champions, not contenders do against inferior competition. Looking to have two points stolen by a pack of Wolves, City snatched victory from the asshole of defeat in 90+5 minutes.
And now at Anfield, Slaverpool lead Swine Chelsea 1-0 as the first half runs out. That is what champions do.
Arsenal, to me, are equal parts too tight and too undisciplined. Yesterday's bird pump was the third match in only eight games in this young season where Arsenal had a player red-carded. They played 60' 10 on 11. That's what contenders do, not champions. Mikel Arteta said after the game that it was "an accident waiting to happen".
Arteta was projecting. He was correct about the Bournemouth game but he was also projecting Arsenal in his time there. Arsenal never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity and yesterday an "accident waiting to happen" happened. Agayne.
