Cornyn ran afoul of Trump in 2024 for not endorsing him until after the New Hampshire primary. Trump endorsed Paxton just last Monday. Paxton is the most controversial nominee since Roy Moore in Alabama.

Cornyn ran afoul of Trump in 2024 for not endorsing him until after the New Hampshire primary. Trump endorsed Paxton just last Monday. Paxton is the most controversial nominee since Roy Moore in Alabama.
This result therefore also then represents Democrats' best chance to flip a Senate seat. State Rep. James Talarico has polled very strongly against both Cornyn and Paxton.
